AI-Futtaim motors Toyota, the exclusive distributors for Toyota & Lexus in the UAE have released the following statement: During the vehicle assembly process, the subject vehicles may have been installed with an incorrect specification driver or front passenger airbag assembly. This could result in an airbag deployment which is based on parameters outside of the intended specifications in the event of an accident. All repairs for related to this service campaign will be completed free of charge to the customer. A total of 22 vehicles are affected in the UAE, manufactured between 2002 and 2016. No other vehicles are affected.   2. ANNOUNCEMENT Service recall for a limited number of 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Light Duty and GMC Sierra Light Duty vehicles. In coordination with the Ministry of Economy -Department of Consumer Protection, and in line with the directives of the Ministry of Economy, to conduct an ongoing review of all products in the UAE to provide the consumer with the required protection, General Motors announces a service recall for 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Light Duty and GMC Sierra Light Duty vehicles from 17th September 2017. These vehicles may experience a temporary loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist followed by a sudden return of EPS assist. The loss and sudden return of EPS assist typically happens within a one-second period and is caused by an electrical/software issue. General Motors have taken the decision jointly with the Ministry of Economy to launch a maintenance campaign to inspect the vehicles involved in the UAE and, if required, complete the necessary repairs to ensure customers' peace of mind. The vehicles are safe to drive and customers who own models for which the last eight digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) fall into the range below, will soon be contacted by a General Motor's dealer to arrange a convenient time for the repair work. ANNOUNCEMENT Safety recall in the UAE for certain 2011-2012 Model Year Ford F-150, 2012 Model Year Expedition & Mustang, and Lincoln Navigator Vehicles equipped with a 61180 Transmission In coordination with the Ministry of Economy - Consumer Protection Department and in line with the commitment of the Ministry of Economy to conduct an on-going review of all products in the UAE to provide the consumer with the required protection, Al Tayer Motors, the local importer -dealer of Ford and Lincoln vehicles in the UAE, and Premier Motors the official dealer for Ford and Lincoln vehicles in Abu Dhabi, announce a safety recall campaign for certain 2011-2012 Model Year Ford F-150, 2012 Model Year Expedition & Mustang, and Lincoln Navigator Vehicles equipped with a 6R80 Transmission, manufactured in the USA, for powertrain control module reprogramming. In some of the affected vehicles, an intermittent Output Speed Sensor (OSS) failure may result in an unintended downshift into first gear. Depending on vehicle speed at the time of the downshift, an abrupt wheel speed reduction may occur which could cause the rear tires to slide or lock up until the vehicle speed slows. This condition could result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. A total of 630 vehicles are estimated to be affected in the UAE. ANNOUNCEMENT Safety Recall Campaign Statement: Certain 2014 model year Ford E-Series and F-150 and 2014-2015 model year Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC vehicles for Attachment Bolt Replacement In coordination with the Ministry of Economy - Consumer Protection Department and in line with the commitment of the Ministry of Economy to conduct an on-going review of all products in the UAE and provide the consumer with the required protection, Al Tayer Motors, the local importer -dealer of Ford vehicles in the UAE, and Premier Motors, the official dealer for Ford vehicles in Abu Dhabi, announce a safety recall campaign for certain 2014 model year Ford E-Series and F-150 and 2014-2015 model year Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC vehicles, manufactured in the United States of America, for attachment bolt replacement. In some of the affected vehicles, certain attachment bolts for the seats, seatbacks, seatbelt buckles and/or seatbelts may have been improperly hardened during manufacturing. Improperly hardened bolts may be more susceptible to fracture and the structural integrity of the seat could be compromised in a sudden stop or crash, increasing the risk of injury. In the UAE, 414 vehicles are estimated to be affected by this recall campaign. In the interest of delivering the highest standards of Ford quality and customer care, Al Tayer Motors /Premier Motors will begin contacting the affected customers to inform them about this recall and update them on the further process. Parts and repair instructions necessary to perform the recall action are estimated to be ready by Q4 2017. In some of the affected vehicles, the steering wheel attachment bolt may not maintain torque, allowing the steering wheel to loosen over time. If not corrected, the steering wheel may separate from the steering column shaft, increasing the risk of a crash while driving. In the UAE, 3358 vehicles are estimated to be affected by this recall campaign. In these vehicles equipped with gas engines and dual fuel tanks, if the fuel-level sensor in the front tank becomes stuck in a low-level position, the rear tank may overfill the front tank and potentially cause it to expand. In rare circumstances, the front fuel tank could expand and contact a moving drive shaft, which could create a hole in the front fuel tank and allow fuel to leak. If leaked fuel encounters a potential ignition source, a fire could occur. General Motors have taken the decision jointly with the Ministry of Economy to launch a maintenance campaign to inspect the vehicles involved in the UAE and, if required, complete the necessary repairs to ensure customers' peace of mind. ANNOUNCEMENT SAFETY RECALL FOR CERTAIN 2008 - 2011 FERRARI 458 ITALIA, 458 SPIDER, CALIFORNIA AND FF VEHICLES IN THE UAE In coordination with the Ministry of Economy - Consumer Protection Department and in line with the commitment of the Ministry of Economy to conduct an ongoing review of all products in the UAE to provide the consumer with the required protection, Al Tayer Motors, the local importer - dealer of Ferrari vehicles, and Premier Motors the official dealer of Ferrari vehicles in Abu Dhabi, announce a safety recall campaign for certain 2008 - 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia, 458 Spider, California, and FF vehicles, manufactured in Italy, for replacing the passenger side airbag module. Ferrari S.p.A. has decided to implement this campaign, due to a non-conformity in the manufacturing process of the passenger side airbag module. The module may have been manufactured using propellant which may deteriorate over time, which may cause the airbag to fail to deploy correctly as required by applicable safety standards. In the event of a collision necessitating deployment of the airbag, this nonconformity may result in the failure of the inflation device and incorrect deployment of the passenger side airbag, increasing the risk of injury. A total of 223 vehicles are estimated to be affected in the UAE. Announcement Safety Recall for certain 2014 -15 Ford Escape vehicles in the UAE In coordination with the Ministry of Economy -Consumer Protection Department and in line with the commitment of the Ministry of Economy to conduct an ongoing review of all products in the UAE to provide the consumer with the required protection, Al Tayer Motors, the local importer - dealer of Ford vehicles, and Premier Motors the official dealer for Ford vehicles in Abu Dhabi, announce a safety recall campaign for certain 2014-2015 Model Year Ford Escape vehicles equipped with 2.5L IVCT petrol engines, manufactured in Spain, to reprogram the powertrain control module. In some of the affected vehicles, the electronic steering column lock does not fully disengage allowing the possibility for the steering to lock or partially lock while driving. This could potentially lead to a loss of steering while driving. A total of 1232 vehicles are estimated to be affected in the UAE. ANNOUNCEMENT Special Service Campaign Statement: Curtain Shield Airbag-Lexus CT 200h Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributor of Lexus in the UAE, released the following statement: "Following communication with Toyota Motor Corporation, we have started a Special Service Campaign on 130 Lexus CT200h MY 2010 to 2012 in the UAE. The subject vehicles are equipped with curtain shield air bags located in the left and right side roof rails, which use an inflator that contains compressed gas in one chamber and propellant in another; these chambers are welded together. Some inflators could have a small crack in the weld area, which could propagate over time, especially if the vehicle is parked and unoccupied for a period of time, causing the inflator to separate. If this happens, the curtain shield air bag could partially deploy, and, in exceptional circumstances, one or both sections of the inflator could be ejected from the roof rail into the interior of the vehicle. ANNOUNCEMENT Safety recall campaign on 2014 - 2016 Model Year Maserati vehicles in the UAE announced In coordination with the Ministry of Economy - Consumer Protection Department and in line with the commitment of the Ministry of Economy to conduct an ongoing review of all products in the UAE to provide the consumer with the required protection, Al Tayer Motors, the local importer -dealer of Maserati vehicles, and Premier Motors, the official dealer for Maserati vehicles in Abu Dhabi, announce a safety recall for 2014 - 2016 model year Quattroporte and Ghibli vehicles, manufactured in Italy. As part of the recall, it is necessary to replace the screws of the rear toe-in adjustment rods and their washers to the standard set by Maserati. This operation is necessary as the screws could lose the specific torque value. The vehicle may lose the correct wheel alignment and a noise from the rear could be detected. A sporty continuous use of vehicle with screws not properly tightened may lead to a potential risk of vehicle control loss. A total of 1257 vehicles are affected in the UAE.
