Dubai: If you do not wish to get a heavy fine of AED 150,000, you better avoid taking photos of accidents and later publishing them on social media platforms. The Abu Dhabi police have issued a warning against taking pictures at accident sites can get you into serious trouble. Talking about the issue, Brigadier Khalifa Mohammed Al Khaili, director of Traffic and Patrols of Abu Dhabi Police, mentioned that such practice cause hindrance to the work of traffic patrols, ambulance, and other civil defense vehicles. He further added that such delays may result in serious consequences and can worsen the situation of a victim. The regulation was administered in accordance with the UAE’s Cybercrime Law No 5 of 2012, Article No. 21 which states that anyone who uses an electronic device to invade someone privacy will be given a fine of AED 150,000 to AED 500,000 along with an imprisonment of up to six months. Moreover, drivers who deliberately stop their vehicles to just spectate the scene of a traffic accident will be fined AED 1,000 for blocking the road as it may cause a problem for the emergency team to reach the location.
