Hi @Herman G, I am in construction so also have a fair bit of lifting experience. This is why it is important to have proper tow/recovery points on a vehicle. Also the kinetic ropes and shackles should be rated to at least 3 times the mass of the heaviest vehicle. For example, the type of cars we drive are between 2.0 and 2.5 ton, add in passengers, gear, camping stuff, mods etc say 400 to 600 kg. So around 3 ton therefor all recovery gear should be rated for an absolute minimum of 9 ton, with 11 ton a better bet. Again, if recovering a fully kitted out USA style pick up will need gear rated to at least 15 ton.

@Andrew John Melvill The car was at a serious angle and it's a heavy one as well. From a distance that made me worry a bit about the forces on the towing points, the rope to the Raptor so sideways. My personal winching/towing/hoisting experience is mostly vessel-based and all only involving heavy equipment, interesting to now see the 3D-dynamics with cars on this slope as well as in the bowl earlier that day. Hats off to the professionals figuring this one out!
