  1. People thing that if the car passes the RTA test then it fine...actually its not that way there are many things they leave out dnt or can't cheak...plus you have those who have been hired but can't differentiate between power oil and engine oil...and then those too who dnt even know if a car has power steering or not...I have proof with me that's why I am talking I still have the shamil test report which failed for a steering leak but the car itself dnt had a surprise power steering installed from japan
  2. You have to complete the maintenance or else you invite trouble.. One thing that rides must need repair....you say that new car doesn't breakdown but actually when ie after 5 years when you sell out the maintenances come crashing over the head of the new user...I have a workshop and I get to gear that alot...guy comes in and says I bought the car few weeks or months ago and now this happens...then I am like did you had this done and he's like I don't know....
  3. How much engine and gear of a Cherokee would cost you leave the gear as its manual it won't go bad unless you don't know how to shift...and how much do you think a 2007 or 2010 pathfinder engine alone would cost....
  4. If you can bring it after eid to my workshop I'll cheak it myself...
  5. Have you driven a manual gear 97 Cherokee...the ride is bit rough but you won't be sorry for choosing it
  6. Let the ac guy fix a gauge manifold he can then explain very well what you want if leak or compressors pumping is weak....
  7. Near ajman china mall there is a shop by the name fursan cheak there they do good work
  8. I would advise if cheak engine light is on then get it diagnosed for any sensor faults otherviseothervise just give it a a tune-up like plugs air filter throttle cleaning and fuel filter change
  9. Aftermarket parts also work fine as many are made in Japan and such...but sensors and actuators you won't get aftermarket ones....
  10. 2nd hand power pump alright as long as you get for 3 days guarantee but the steering assy you can get it repaired with 4 to 6 months guarantee as the used steering assy was sitting in a lot for who know when and when you install it the in few months it starts leaking oil...thats why i dnt recommend it to my customers...
  11. loosing power and sputtering is caused for many reasons it hard to say unless the car is in front of me and with some checking but the general reasons are if the timing skips worn spark weak coils cam or crank and air flow sensor intermittently failing and fuel pressure falling or fuel filter choked this is much of it that comes to my mind at the moment...
  12. if you are using premixed 50/50 coolant then you dnt need to mix it with anything but if you are using a concentrate the you have to mix it with equal part of water...usually i used the 50/50 premix coz i dnt have the time to mess with the mixing in the workshop just put it in and you are ready to go it costs 50 here ajman from the genuine parts dealer
  13. is the check engine light lighted up...? any unusall noise from the engine compartment...? because cruise control turns off when the car is switched off and then back on so it cant be cruise..many times i have seen that peoples cars engine light is also disabled so when selling the car they would get good money for it if you have bought the car used the you should get it checked by a diagnostic machine i m sure you will find something out....
  14. older luxus are not so complicated i agree but the newer models are very advanced if they dnt have the diagnostic equipment and are not equipped with the workshop manuals i would advise you to visit someone who does...as we have had people come from other garages to us because first there was one problem then by going to a garage for a fix there comes another problem...meet the technician before you hand them your car...
  15. timing chains do not need any replacement but there are conditions to this statement only if you observe very precise and regular oil changes with good quality oils or manual recommended oil quality if not then chains also get cracked and then break at some point (i have seen broken chains at my workshop)
  16. why dnt you get it checked by a diagnostic machine and then change the one which actually has the issue as oxy sensors are expensive i wouldn't recommend anyone changing all at once and usually it goes bad becos of worn spark plugs as unburnt fuel is poison for the oxy sensors and the cat as well.... and the cat is really expensive i bought it for es 2007 for 3.4k aed
  17. all uz engine starters are located under the intake manifold it requires a mechanic with sound skills to complete the job in around 4 to 12 hours according to the model...
  18. if the engine revolves but does not fire up then you have worn spark plugs or a weak coils but if the starter is just making a sound as tuk then nothing or makes a sound like a free moter revolving like veeeeee the you have a starter problem....
  19. if the rpm going up and the car is not responding accordingly the my friend you have a slipping clutch problem...
  20. why dnt you put shampoos in the car washer not too much only little will do and for scratches you had to change the wipers regularly not only when it rains...
  21. repainting is not so expensive if the car you have is a keeper...it costs 2500 aed to 3k to paint the car but if add keep adding suger then its really gonna be sweet...
  22. first and foremost the check engine light only comes if there is a electrical or electronic problem in a car from air filter up to the exhaust there are many sensors which if not responding correctly the engine computer illuminates the engine light and now lets come to the timing belt topic it has a running life from 80k to 100k if you are not sure get it checked at a qualified workshop they can give you a fair estimate of what is the condition of it...
