Overheating Transmission, Pajero 2008-2020
Frederic replied to Frederic's topic in Mitsubishi Pajero Forum in UAE
Hi @celoalvarado! The overheating issue mentioned in this post above is related to the transmission overheating, while yours looks like the engine is overheating. This should definitely not happen on a Pajero. You have approached it correctly by replacing the radiator, fan clutch, and thermostat. Another possibility could be perhaps the water pump that is not circulating the coolant properly. I don't think a bigger transmission cooler or aux fan will help here. There seems to be a different reason why your engine is overheating. I you changed the thermostat and radiator recently, are you sure there is no air left in the system? You can check in this way: 1. Start with engine cold → remove radiator cap 2. Fill coolant to the top of the radiator. 3. Start engine with radiator cap off. 4. Let it idle and watch for: -Air bubbles coming out -Coolant level dropping Once: Bubbles stop Engine reaches operating temp Coolant level stabilizes 5.Then put the cap back on securely. -
Chema has been promoted to Fewbie level

Congrats @Chema!! -
Thanks again for all who joined our little city escape drive, and to @J-P L, @ChrisW, @Aser for the support. A special mention as well to @Amr A for bringing along two newbies with him 😁 who both drove perfectly. The weather was simply bliss, with a beautiful blue sky, some puffy white clouds, and a bit of wind. It doesn't get much better than this. The sand was extremely forgiving, but having such a great convoy and support behind my back made it even better. Without much trouble we made our way from Murquab to the Solar Tower, which was shining brightly at us. After a short break i wanted to explore the small but clean dunes just north of the Solar Tower. These dunes are smaller and more technical but we sailed through it without breaking a sweat. I was happy to see @Raptor Runner - Praveen being crested as finally we had something to do We made our way further Northwest towards the famous Three Trees at Al Qudra where we exited. All in all a good 45kms (see the track below): Wikiloc | DXB-Murquab to Qudra Solar Trail See you all in the sands soon again!

Good morning all! @Amr A@Amer Alsabbagh@Ghali Awa@Tej@ChrisW@Amr Morsy@Sam76@Raptor Runner - Praveen@Hartzel@Chema@Alex M@Noufal@Ana@Aser Thanks for signing up! Taking into account the weather conditions and geopolitical situation, there are some points i wanted to highlight: 1. I moved the starting time from 7AM to 8AM. This should make it easier to reach in time considering the potential bad condition of the roads. But please try to arrive by 7.45AM so you still have time left to deflate a bit and set up your flag. 2. If you have received public alerts throughout the night and did not sleep well, better to cancel from your side. There will always be another drive. Look after your own safety and your family first. 3. Deflation parameters will be different. Upon arrival i would recommend only to deflate to 16-18psi. The sand will be very compacted due to the rains. If needed we can always adjust during the drive. 4. Obviously this will not be a dune-bashing style of drive. The hard sand will feel totally different to drive on. Let's just aim at exploring the terrain, taking the occasional break with a hot coffee, and socialize a bit. Let's make it relaxing. 5. We will be using Channel 10. Which is 446.231Mhz on our walkie talkies. 6. Better bring some warm clothes and a jacket. It will be chilly in the morning Stay safe in the meantime and i hope to see you all in the morning!

Internet Anywhere: Usage for Offroad & Convoys
Frederic replied to Zed's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
Interesting topic @Zed! and i have been following up on the recent launch of Starlink. A colleague of mine installed the home version this week for around 1800dhs and a monthly subscription of around 300dhs. Interesting and if this works fine i might be inclined to ditch my home internet subscription. For mobile purposes, the areas where we have no cell cover are quite limited. (Liwa, Al Quoa, and perhaps some areas like Ghayati, Al Razeen, etc..) But not convincing enough for me to purchase the mobile edition. I find Garmin Inreach still having the upper hand when it comes to calling for help or two-way messaging for only 7.99USD per month. For navigation purposes i am used to downloading the offline maps on my Garmin and phone as well. Very simple and straightforward. Entertainment wise, yeah it might be cool to watch sports games or stream movies in the desert (whenever the climate and geopolitical situation allows 🫢) -

One option is to buy a couple of these: You can stick these to the side of the car / or window and fix your flag to it.

@Ash S. @JC_E might be able to help you out.

DRIVE DESCRIPTION-WHAT TO EXPECT The Majestic Solar Tower is a landmark in the Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve. Starting from the little quaint town called Murquab along the E66, we will be heading in a southwest direction and try our best to find clean passages and get as close as possible to the tower. We plan to exit near the well-known three trees in Al Qudra. All in all, some good learning and great fun with your Carnity friends! ⚠️IMPORTANT-PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND COMPLY: All participants must review and follow the club guidelines below: Environmental Policy Safety Protocols During Emergency Alert Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities Convoy Off-road Drives - Safety protocol during emergency alert 🚙 JOINING OUR CLUB FOR THE FIRST TIME?
