  1. DRIVE REPORT FRED's CONVOY Two big Carnity Convoys taking over Faqa North and Solar Park area. What else can we say about this drive ? - Everyone was excited to explore and up to the challenges we faced. - Apart from some small refusals, some shoveling and a few tugs, we were saved from serious stucks or technical issues. I was happy to see lots of guys in my convoy that i saw progressing through the ranks within our offroad club. It's amazing to see some of them gliding through the dunes with ease now ! In total, we covered 82kms, not just from doing sabkhas but we did our fair share of technical areas as well. And Oryx. so much Oryx we saw I wanted to use the play areas nearby the exit point (Solar Park Long dunes) as well, but time was slowly running out and wanted on the right time. We will definitely put them on the program next time. See you all soon back in the sand !
  2. Welcome Luis ! I am sure if you had fun on my drive, you’ll be having a blast every week !

  7. Hi @Daniel Rodas that is correct. These radios can only be programmed with the help of a USB cable and software with laptop, hence we do not recommend buying them, unless you can find the programming cable and download the software called CHIRP. The easiest thing is to buy a Baofeng UV5R or Crony MT777 as these have a programming display and we have tutorials for them. For this drive and because you brought it forward, Vanessa can give you a spare radio.
  8. I am pleased to announce that @Luca Palanca Falsini has stepped forward and volunteered to lead a second IM drive ! I will be adding 9 more members to the RSVP to complete a second convoy. To the ones waitlisted for a second drive, keep an eye out as we might be having some drop-outs later this week and in that case i can add you. @Islam Soliman @Nizam Deen @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ @Rizwan Waheed @Craig Finlayson @Christian Andras @Jorge Stepniak Felippe @Rizwanm2 @Francois Germishuys you have been all added to the drive. We will setup 2 meeting points on the same road to avoid confusions. Individual convoy numbering will be announced later today.

  10. Looks like Al Qoaa. This is definitely fast but also quite messy. That SWB landcruiser was literally throwing himself over the ridges.
  11. @Ashok chaturvedi rest assured we are working hard behind the screens to make things happen where we can, I do not appreciate the tone in which this comes and kindly request you to hold your horses till further news comes.

  14. On these things i would take zero risk. After all you don’t want to end up with steering issues on the road which could potentially lead to serious incidents. I would bite the bullet and get it fixed properly, and not by a backyard mechanic who will make you lots of promises but you might end up having the same problem again and again.
  15. That’s a very good point you are bringing @Abilash Madhavan. Every oil has safety margins and from an occasional overheating it won’t lose its original properties however eventually the overheating would affect the transmission itself negatively. From what I’ve heard it’s recommend the change the transmission oil every 25.000kms.
