  2. Which is the best bank for auto loans in the UAE based on interest rate.? Any particular banks to avoid?
  3. My fuel gauge is not working properly. Its moving fast and then resuming to original position. Even if the tank is full the needle doesn't move all the way down, it stays one bar up. What needs to be checked?
  4. A fastest accelerating electric vehicle in the world was recently released by a group of German students. The car was clocked from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 1.779 seconds!!!; the previous record stood at 1.785 seconds. It only had a 134 hp electric motor to do the job, drawing juice from a 6.62 kWh battery pack. Here's the link to the video : https://www.youtube.com/embed/bO7HlsAbhQk?showinfo=0
  5. Within hours of the announcement, for example, Nissan Middle East sent a tweet which read: "#Petrol prices are set to rise in the #UAE? No problem! Drive the all new #Hybrid #Pathfinder."But despite being cheaper to run over time, many electric and hybrid cars come with a higher price tag than their fully combustion-engine counterparts. Some small versions currently available in the UAE have a starting price of Dh76,000. http://www.khaleejtimes.com/business/auto/go-hybrid Are you guys seriosuly thinking for alternate options? Any first hand experience here with Electric or Hybrid vehicles? Electric cars are a great option for many people in countries around the world not just because they are better for the environment, but because they can save their owners a fair amount of money. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, earlier this year electric cars on average cost $3.74 to travel 100 miles, as opposed to $13.36 for conventional cars. Those savings are quite considerable in the long-run but only if the user has easy and regular access to charge points, otherwise they won’t get many miles for their dollar at all. They’ll get zero, because the car would run out of battery charge halfway along the Abu Dhabi Highway and leave its owner stranded. http://goo.gl/zy9bH3
  6. There's a silver lining though. Increase in gas prices might lead to fuel-efficient cars, hybrids and, most recently, all electric cars that can travel up to 160 kms between charges.Does anyone have any idea on availability of electric cars and hybrids in Dubai?

  16. Yeah i realised that. Thanks for the reply, mine is a Gem setup as Bosch engines were implemented only after 2000 models when BMW took over. jackson wrote: > In older car rpm are usually controlled by vacuum switch than > electronically controlled like in newer car. Do you know you have Bosch setup or Gem setup > manifold & ignition? Bosch are much better than Gem (older > engineering).

Twin exhaust tail pipes for all V8's HEI standard on all engines. Deep pile carpet New radios offered A/C now available with 6-cylinder. Cruise control added *A catalytic converter is a vehicle emissions control device which converts toxic byproducts of combustion in the exhaust of an internal combustion engine to less toxic substances by way of catalysed chemical reactions. The specific reactions vary with the type of catalyst installed. Most present-day vehicles that run on gasoline are fitted with a “three-way” converter, so named because it converts the three main pollutants in automobile exhaust: carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbon and oxides of nitrogen. The first two undergo catalytic combustion and the last is reduced back to nitrogen. Source - Wikipedia
  18. Hi Guys, I have a 1999 RR 4.6 HSE. I have recently noticed that the RPM whilst on neutral is around 900-950. But when in D it falls to 500 odd. Is this normal? Anyone else with the same model have noticed something like this? Btw how many ppl are there with a 1999-2001 RR model over here?

  20. People who change their tires or wheels may risk getting a speeding ticket because their speedo reading may be wrong. I recently changed my stock tires on my RR ('99) from 255/65/R16 to 265/70/R16 and was quiet surprised to the see a difference in my speedometer reading and my Garmin GPS reading! Research tests have shown that there is an increase in your speed by up to 8 per cent without you being aware when you change to a different profile tire. The tests compared the cars' actual speed to the speedo reading plus how the speed was effected by altering tire pressures and changing to a different profile tire. So guys please use tools available online to determine the actual speed of your vehicle after altering your standard tires. As the number of mobile sped cameras have increased in UAE we should not rely on speedometer reading alone.
