Sounds like the vibration follows the turbo rev range. I always start my engine and let it run for a minute before setting off to circulate the oil to the bearings in the turbo and I always let it tick over before shutting off to cool the turbo. If you don't do this then bearing wear can be a problem.

Well the most easiest way is to get the small sticker patches from Ace Hardware for fixing air bed and inflatable pool. These stickers comes in different colors and also in transparent type. For the tiny holes you can fix stickers from outside and inside and see if that helps. It should have surely help if its plastic like in air beds and all, but im not sure if it stays well on fabric or not.

This is a known problem from Kia. The drive shaft and the U joint gets unbalanced. Another possibility is that the axle shaft nut may loosen up due to some play between the inside of the wheel hub and the axle shaft assembly.

Hi all, i own a jeep wrangler and my soft top has started leaking ... found that out during a wash .. I am a wash fanatic .. any ideas on how I can fix it myself temporarily ?! don't want to spend money on a new soft top plus the hole is tiny from where the leakage is happening! I have an 06 Mohave and I have never had any issues with vibration or the drive train. Sure it makes a few noises on rough roads but thats about it.

the ecm is the computer man.. the Engine Control module ... you must reset it ... that will eliminate the vibration. it controls the drive train and every other single functioning part.

Panda ...ECM? What is that? And how will it fix the vibration?

Sad that a lot of Mohaves' have such weird problems and Kia is just unable to fix them.

Hi pkumar, from my experience of playing with so many car models and engines in my life. Switching or upgrade to engine is always possible. Though this is quite new car 2010 model i personally wouldn't advise as it will cost good arm and leg to flip engine. Secondly for changing engines you always look into similar engine motor like in terms of mount, firewall opening, brackets and mounts, cooling line and radiator side etc. Its a very big project and not and easy one. For changing same liter size engine to another brand also all these research comes in play. Whereas for flipping and such a big upgrade you will definitely need to do more research to see the compatibility of all above parts i mention and also for Gearbox, brake line, fuel line can accept and support extra power or not. Car manufacturer factor the engine and its power first and then draft rest of the component complimenting the required material. Third for any engine upgrade or swap you need police approval and take the receipt of new engine and get new engine number updated on your registration card while doing renewal. Put together all above points, hassle, uncertainty, money spent is not worth at all. Rather sell this car and buy some other car that can make you happy in terms of speed and quick acceleration you want. I am being very practical and not trying to burst your bubble, as i am speaking of flipping two engines in my brother car and seeing him stressed, lost and confused was not a good feeling.

i think your problem is that the ecm needs to be reset. contact the guys at kia motors and tell him that.

Bad position to be in. I have an idea though. You said you had the assembly replaced but did the mechanic check the Propeller Shaft Joint. The universal joints and the ball joints should also be inspected for wear. The noises coming from them are different from other noises because the rhythm of the rattling is in step with the cruising speed.

A well too known problem my friend. Early production 2006 Mohaves' had some issues with vibration but the addition of a dynamic damper in later models put all that to bed. You might also need to have one installed.

Hi aman, Out of experience I can tell you that this is not a do-it-yourself kinda scenario and if you feel that your brakes need checking you should definitely get them checked at Kia motors because faulty brakes are dangerous in nature especially on the roads of UAE. You would need to have good experience if you want to be checking your brakes yourself since the process of changing brake pads to calipers and cleaning your rotors with a brake cleaner can be a hectic job. Plus you will need assistance in lifting the frame of the car and removing lug nuts and so on underneath.

Hi people. I have the Mohave luxury 4x4 2006 and I have had issues with the vibration ever since I bought it. Even had the front axle assembly replaced but that did not help. Additionally, several rattles have now shown up resulting in an increase in my frustration. I feel that I am stuck with a vehicle which I do not enjoy driving.

Well under the process of changing brakes, usually the brake pads, rotors, the caliper, the brake line fall into this category. I wish i had more knowledge to help you out there. If I am not wrong then the brake pads require changing often. They are accessed beneath the car and take very less time to be changed. Have you had your brakes checked out by someone?

Hello all i am trying to understand the process of changing the brakes on a kia .. i have an optima and felt that my brakes are not as efficient as they used to be. No doubt theyre working but i hear and feel roughness which is sort of at the back of my mind for quite some time now. Was wondering that i should add knowledge to my car bank in my head so that in case i need to change them i know what kind of knife my car will go under ... can someone guide me through the process and tell me how and when i should know that my car brakes need to be changed.

Well my advise is exactly opposite than sumer suggested, only because you mentioned that you love this ride and like to keep it. In my opinion get your engine head and block checked if its in rebuilding state. If yes then get all the original parts and get the engine rebuild with nice professional guys. Part would cost around 3k + labor would be around 2k, so in all 5k - 6k with all unexpected extras you will give your jeep a new life for another 10 years to come. With used engine and fitting you might spend 3k, but again you don't know at what stage of life that engine comes from and its like a gamble and playing blind call that can be lemon in end. If you do it twice you will be in same budget of rebuilding it once but properly. Rebuilding engine gives you that special confidence and pleasure to see and feel every part of your jeep that you love and you will always remember as an experience of lifetime, as you don't rebuild engine often.

You can go to deira naif shops who sells all type of aftermarket gizmos, I am sure you will find one cheaper than ebay and they will install it too, same time. Those iranian boyz are really good at these stuff.

You can try sourcing a used engine from Japanese or American Import in Sharjah. After crossing sahara center in Sharjah, there is one very big tire market is there. Behind that tire market, there are many scrap yard selling these used engine and spare parts. Alternatively you also can try on Geko roundabout scrapyard market and behind al falah plaza scrapyard market. These all three is in sharjah.

after reading the problem the first thing that came to MY mind was the transmission and its surprising that I cant seem to understand what the rest of the guys are saying ... wow I really need to read into this and increase my know-how about Jeeps and their systems! Let me tell you that will make your day ... A cheaper and a quicker fix to your problem is to have the clogged catalytic converter looked into. That was certainly how I got my jeep accelerating back again to normal. Secondly, you might want to get your clutch checked as well. Mine was burnt by the converter ... or at least this is what the mechanic told me :s

Rao is the jeep displaying any codes that you could work with ? I doubt you will need a fuel flush or that the problem is related to that.

Apparently, this is seen as a very common problem among the wranglers. Sad but true although I don't know of any wrangler owner who has complained about this problem as such. Fir starters you can have your spark plugs changed. You might also have to get your injectors cleaned up by a fuel system flush. Just to be sure before you get started on your wrangler you should recreate this problem in front of a mechanic in order to diagnose it properly. Whoever is working on your jeep must know the point at which your jeep does not accelerate any further.
