  1. I know this poor man's difflock technique very well because I have blown my Land Cruiser front differential during one of the desert challenge in 2006 while trying the same stunt. It costed me 4500 diff and labor extra. If you give hi rev in low range gear with brakes on, you will have the same result "UNLESS OTHERWISE" specified that rev up to 2,000 RPM or so.
  2. This without any precise description will break your front or rear differential in seconds. LO gear torque + Brake = Recipe for 5,000 - 10,000 dhs instant damage. Very surprised to see Hummer putting this in owner's manual without any indicative rev band. With H2 torque I guess anything above 1.5-2.0K RPM will result in instant grinding noise of differential pinion gear.
  3. I totally agree with @Veedooshee suggestion. Don't take me wrong, with added weight duster might struggle more unless you deflate to 12 PSI (which I did for your FR climb), but then no sharp turn or your tire will pop out of the wheel. Also duster feedback from my side, try to find out on how to keep it locked in 1st gear for long hill climb, as while doing FR climb it was shifting up and down from 1 and 2 every 10 seconds. When it stayed in 1st it was very responsive and climbing better, while upshift to 2 (same Pajero known error), it kills the momentum. But in duster case (better than Pajero) it also downshift again to 1st after 10 second, to give a second chance.
  4. Thanks @Jorge Stepniak Felippe for your feedback, I think you must have joined Carnity and attended the physical briefing (pre-COVID) in which we always use to emphasize on disabling airbags and all traction aids. Here is the video now we use for all newbie briefings. Chapter 1: 00:48 Sec
  5. @Lisa Pemberton and @Kieran McKeown please follow above idea to practice deflation at fuel station.
  6. @Jorge Stepniak Felippe it's really sad to hear that LR4 airbag has popped on the criss-crosing, I hope insurance or warranty can cover this or else they must be expensive to repair. Just few days back we were discussing this internally that how to emphasis on video briefing because now with COVID we cannot do the live briefing like before. Can you please give us your feedback on the video briefing: Have you seen the video briefing and was it clear that you supposed to disable SRS? OR was it confusing or not clear and we need to improve that area to emphasize more? OR disabling the SRS in LR4 isn't easy and you were thinking on installing a kill switch?

  11. This happens to everyone, with practice you will get hang of it because offroading isn't same as cruising on tarmac.
  12. Yes this drive is scheduled for 5 AM tomo, try to be on time or little early (always better).
  13. Enoc / Eppco / Adnoc / Emarat do show while inflating
  14. Here is a quick peek for tomorrow's drive plan, hope to touch all big peak in Area53/Pyramids. Follow the path in front of you "precisely" to enjoy these tall dunes, slopes and broad ridges. Let's practice some firm steering control at slightly higher pace (than newbies). I'm doing fewbie drive after a long gap so get ready to be pushed little bit. 10 Km straight line = 30 Km while playing all along. P.S. Don't forget your leather pants and metal underwear's.

  17. Added your name to the drive as an exception, as I heard from Sri that you have given up your tomo newbie drive in anticipation to catch this fewbie drive, that got filled just before your promotion. I'm sure we will have 1 drop out and we will be back on track, then.
  18. I couldn't agree more, very well said Fredy. Beautiful match, both are very enthusiastic, responsible, intelligent and supportive. It's always good to have them on the drives.
