  1. After so many newbie and newbie+ level drives, let's have some moderately thrilling dune bashing for fewbie level, this area sand dunes are for fewbie - intermediate level only. So let's have a nice afternoon drive from Big red to Pink rock area beautiful rolling dunes. Plan to play all along the way, so we can enjoy for a couple of hours before it gets dark and then lay our spread near the pink rock area. When: 28 Dec July 2018 Meeting time: 01:00 PM, the convoy will move sharply at 01:15 PM Where: Big red - opposite bidayer shops GPSCoordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/opok7gqAtX82 Level of drive: Fewbie - Intermediate - Expert - Advance - (No newbie please) Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 10 inches of ground clearance What to bring along: Snacks - whatever you like with little extra to share, water, liquids, smiles, and courage. Approximate finish time: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM RSVP the below calendar:
  2. Thank God, Mitsubishi didn't put such stubborn tech in my model Pajero. My ABS and traction control only kicks in steep downhill and never bothered me while going uphill or spinning the tires. I think it's more of ASC - stability control that kills power than ABS. Good find @hossein and thanks for sharing the above video
  3. After seeing so many drives with newbie and experience offroaders from other clubs and background ignoring the radio communication, ask me to write such a lengthy explanation. Your car fuel is less important than radio communication as if you don't have the fuel you will not move but still, you will be safe and alive, whereas if you cannot hear that critical advise on what's happening on other side and enter then you might lose your vehicle and even life. Your music, passengers chit chat, mobile calls, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and other social distraction can wait rather than missing important advice over the radio that tells you the plan of action to not get lost in the desert. Your food and water are less important even, as without food you can stay alive for 4-5 days and without water up to 12 hours, but without radio communication, you might not be able to return home safely. No excuses are acceptable for not using the radio and responding back in time: Oh I forgot the radio Oh I didn't charge Oh it's volume was turned down by accident Oh I changed the frequency Oh my passenger switched it off Oh I didn't realize it's this important ENOUGH OF EXCUSES for your own safety and safety for others, if you cannot process this simple device then you are not fit to be an offroader, at least NOT with Carnity Offroad Club. Safety is paramount here and members who cannot understand this basic requirement will be removed from the Carnity Offroad Club. Spare radio is available for absolute newbies only if you have done 1-2 drives, please get your radio. It just cost less than 200 dhs for years of fun and safety. This is the first thing that any offroader should buy, who wants to drive in a disciplined convoy with safety in mind.

  5. I totally agree @Mick, that everyone should enter desert with real men who understand this extreme adventure and behave in a responsible and civil manner than just being kiddish like immature boys.
  6. It was a wonderful newbie+ drive and thanks Rahimdad for this great idea to throw newbies in some rough water and teach them swimming without the floaters - perfect example @skumar83 I have seen lot of new faces who were so confident in newbie tracks before were struggling on newbies+ level was there for a purpose to let them graduate the art of driving and learning their vehicle real capabilities. Some of the newbies have shown excellent learning curve and others have demonstrated that they have relevant previous experience based on which few promotions have been made today. Few others are almost close and maybe in the next couple of drives will be promoted shortly, once we all feel you are ready for the next level. I like to reiterate on the point that Rahimdad already mentions on "PATIENCE" that any offroad sport is an extreme adventure and if you cannot learn to be patient, tolerate and forgiving to others you can never learn real offroading. Offroading has no rules and laws, lanes and red lights, streetlight and signboard so one has to be very cautious and careful at every turn then being stupid and driving blind-folded. Secondly, we also need to learn to level up with each other while offroading so that we can learn together rather than running alone in a race. Thirdly, In this extreme sport, trust is everything that we extend to each other while venturing out and have that unsaid faith on each other capabilities and support so that we all can enjoy our weekend in a safe environment. Safety for yourself and for others is paramount and we will never compromise on that so that everyone can return home in one piece and in their own car after the weekend fun. I really appreciate a lot of you guys come from previous experience and didn't actually enjoyed yesterday drive with tons of refusals, but we all have learned the same way and I hope you continue to provide your support in the future to train others. This is how we all grow together and learn from each other at every stage of offroading.
  7. If you cannot or don't want to do it yourself with a saw blade, then you can go to any denting painting shop and ask them to trim it with grinder more professionally, just mask the area as skumar mentioned.

  12. With so many cars, I suggest distributing 1 passenger in each car so that they will enjoy the front view - as a first option
  13. OK, bring some special Belgium chocolates then, not the one that is available in Dubai
  14. Very valued points already mentioned, here is my take on such unique flip "ON THE CREST" that I have never seen before. His speed was way too fast to do the criss-cross on that ridge. Seems like experienced but a new driver with this much-lifted (8-10 inch) vehicle that is more prone to flips, or he may be new to sand entirely to judge the way how this tall ride react to such situations. He turned little early and sharply on the right side, instead, he should have gone a straight little bit, ride the ridge and gently steer right to do the transition from where earlier tracks have been shown. Even with the slightest lift before the flip, if he could have steer left immediately he could have avoided the flip and got stuck on the crest, with this much-lifted vehicle he could have self-recovered very easily. So getting stuck or refusal is way better than flip or a roll. While the flip was happening (00:03 - 00:06), he has left the gas and could have avoided this flip to a certain degree if he kept on flooring the pedal. He has given gas after the flip (00:06 - 00:08), pretty much useless in that angle.
  15. Be 100% sure with fast track or other quick lube options that they use right grade and brand of oil, filter, and gasket instead of yes yes sir, no problem will cost you arm and leg after some time to change the whole transmission.
  16. Excellent observation from a newbie perspective which shows your commitment to learning this sport with utmost safety. Totally impressed @Javier M, keep it up. Drifting downward and upward is not a good idea at all. On a flat ground, it's barely acceptable (borderline), if you know how to do it and do it within limits for just a little while. Drifting should be left for expert and professional drivers with proper safety gear, clothing, helmet, and roll cage installed vehicle on the race track or completely cordoned off area for the safety of others, and not in public desert playgrounds.
  17. Sorry I disagree @Barry there is no connection of Chromium. And comments like these reduces the brain cells even more.
  18. So true, just to expand your list: Breaking radiator with the slightest tug when land into a situation already warned off - 2017 (Bidayer) Flipping car on soft sand by going into a situation already warned off - 2017 (Super Bowl) Bursting bald tire by going at peak summer without listening to everyone advise - 2017 (Sweihan) Rolling the car upside down, just for little fun for little one - 2018 (Tawi Nizwa - ON NEWBIE DRIVE) I can go more on and on for undercover incident x 100 So if you just keep calm AND LISTEN TO OTHER ADVISE you might reach home safely without much fuss
  19. You know you're getting old when you used to see the petrol price in UAE at 2.5 DHS / gallon instead of a liter
  20. Excellent plan and much needed for newbies to have a little extra to move to next level
