is the filter changed when the Oil is changed?
adnanJ replied to suboad's topic in Mercedes General Discussion Forum in UAE
if you go to good service center you will not have to ask them to change it they them self will tell you that the filter needs to be changed too. -
it should be half and half or it can even me 3/4 coolant to 1/4 water.

How many kms your car has done??? Its not normal to have engine open before 200-300k kms, but in some case it is possible. And yes when 2-3 pistons are behaving like this, its better to completely overhaul the engine as you dont open engine everyday and its better to change all piston and its piston rings too (actually because of which cylinder losses the pressure). There is one quality professional workshop in Rashidiya i take my merc, check with them about estimate and time. Mercedes R us: 04 2852800

adnanJ replied to Kadvani's topic in Mercedes A Class Forum in UAE
in long run if you keep having constant load in you car then it may damage the car to a small extend. the car may feel a little lower too without the load after some time. -

If the exhaust gives white smoke for a few seconds when you starts the engine after it has been sitting for night, and then runs normally, it could mean that the rubber valve stem seals have perished - especially if the vehicle is a few years old and has done over 100k+ kms. White smoke or semi white can be produced in several ways. One way is oil this is normally a whitish blue to blue smoke and has the apparent smell of oil being burned. Next could be antifreeze when it is being burned it has a sweet type of smell and tends to dissipate in the air rather quickly.

My ciggarette ashtray is stuck in ML500 2005 model. It is push and open type design and now completely stuck inside and not popping out when i push gently or hard. Any creative idea to open this at home and figure out what is the problem. Or i need to take it to mechanic for this????

Service light is on after getting car serviced 6 months back
adnanJ replied to hayde's topic in Mercedes B Class Forum in UAE
Well service light is based on Km than months. Check the kms intervals reset on previous service and it should match like 10k service or 15k service. -
Visit Mercedes R us in rashidiya, try to be vigilant as they are good and very good but at the same time little cocky in squeezing extra buck by exhorbitantly inflating the problem and make it sound so big that you will ready to spend 3000 dhs for the job of 300 dhs labour. But they know their work with good workmanship, no doubt.

Tail lamp/brake light replacement
adnanJ replied to sameerabbasi's topic in Mercedes C Class Forum in UAE
Naif road for aftermarket Orginal from deira original spare parts or from AGMC at SZR. -
I really doubt they will install it for you. But if you take the car then they can see and advise whether it will fit or not for sure. Remember to bargain good, and if you buy make sure ask them to refund money if it doesnt fit. Head unit swap wont take long to change, take a stroll in shj industrial area and i am sure you will find some good garage to fix it. Same i have done few years back.
-
Very true Ezah, thats why i said its practically impossible. Changing so much things and spending on different things makes no point. Once you resale the car you wont get any dime extra. So why bother. Just for fun, on BMW road in shj closer to mazza signal i have seen some shops selling head units, see if that quick replace without the wiring loom can help. Those guys are pretty flexible in selling and will also accept it back if it doesn't fit. You can try that.

Its practically impossible mate. These both specs Japanese and European are built on different standard as far these Sat/Nav, Radio, Comm features concern. If i am not wrong you have to remove the whole assembly of sat/nav or comm to get access.
