  1. I am having trouble starting the my Peugeot 307 SW - 2006 model. The battery is just 4 months old. One mechanic says that there is a problem with the starting motor. Any other suggestions? Anywhere I can get a second opinion?

when this happened once in my car the mechanic said its the alternator had to be replaced.

  2. For sure you dont need to change the whole manifold as its very expensive. Instead go to BM road spare part guys and ask them for flap assembly in Intake manifold. They will get you the that small bit in which flap is already drilled and bolted. Your mechanic need to remove the whole manifold and replace that part.

May be find some other (not lazy) mechanic to do this job.

  3. Your car is not normal in heating, but normal in making loud noise and rattle when overheat.

Check your AC fan if it working with AC or not, i doubt it isnt working and when u r driving it gets cold air from out so engine is fine, but when u stop it doesnt get enuf air supply and overheat and then engine fan second speed kicks in making hurricane noise and though its light car, it also shakes the car. Its a job of engine fan to run on two speed. One is normal, sober down. And second is HULK speed to help engine cool if anything fails, like in ur case may be AC fan.

If not, get your thermostat changed too, Check radiator cap is holding enuf pressure or not.

  4. There is guarnateed leak in your cooling system (HVAC) better show to good mechanic who can find out leak first and fix it and then top up gas next time.

One shud do the pressure test to compressor and lines by putting normal c02 to max pressure and watch the pressure gauge closely for any drop in next 10 mins. It will drop the pressure then that means there is leak for sure. Then they can check the leak with soap water and foam around compressor and all AC lines.

If still cant find it, ask your mechanic to check the evaporator it must be leaking then.
