I am having hard day in office also knowing my gearbox is fucked up is not helping. But @Barry this comment from you I am keeping remembering it and cant stop laughing

Currently Toyota and Honda also coming with CVT. There is no proper gearbox from Japan`s anymore.

Actually i really like this Jeep. It was comfortable, good ac, lots of space good for camping and bbq. But at the end it is just 6000AED car. If repairing it will cost more than 2000AED better sell it for cheap and look for something else. Or i dont know actually what to do now. Because my history with old Jeeps not that good. I was keep repairing my old cherokee always with mopar parts but it never became good. I am afraid i will pay good money repair it than after one month another problem will come up.

Back than in Turkey i was having a Peugeot 206. For few days i traveled with my mother`s Benz. When i come back i thought something happened to my steering but i was normal. It was the difference of electric steering vs hydraulic steering. I think Pajero also dont have electric steering maybe thats why you think it is too heavy.

As soon as i get the seals i need i will change it. Already oil and filter waiting in trunk.

When you consider the price i bought it yes it just not worth it to change. Better to drive until it dies and throw it to scrapyard.

You are right it is very nasty fault as i see. Tones of thing might cause it. Currently i am almost loosing my mind with reading forums. Is it this, is it that. By the way @Barry are you working as mechanic? I was thinking you guys just doing crazy show car stuff.

This is not only the mechanics to blame. This is market here like this. Whatever you pay you will get that. For the money i am paying no one is going to sit on computer and make research for me for hours. So i am trying to do it myself. Even if people trying to be better, making research, trying to make diagnosis for every small item who is going to pay for it in this country or lets says for these beater cheap cars. For cars like you are dealing currently, case is totally different.

Not yet just sensor changed

Ok if anyone wondering what happened. I bought oil, filter and sensor. When we start working Jalil found out there are leaks on transfercase seals and leak between gearbox and transfercase. We decide to not open the pan until i get the needed seals for solving the leaks. But we change the sensor. Currently i can say there is %80 improvment on situation. Most of the time it is shifting very nicely and even if does it it is much better than before. Cruise control issue not solved with sensor. It gives P1595 code which is speed control selenoid circuts. There are way to test it online. I will see what to do. But i am thinking when we drop to pan it is better to chage the governor pressuare sensor and governor pressuare selenoid, if i can get it here available(I would like to hear from our mechanic members ideas about changing this 2) In UAE people like changing things complitely. In America people going inside and looking what causing the issue. I think my case here will be a sample for people who has Jeeps to solve their gearbox issue without changing the gearbox.

After reading forums and websites i guess i know what is wrong. I hope i am right about it. When i write about my problem to Jeep facebook pages they asked me if my cruise control working and it was working till yesterday night. Yesterday while i am coming back from drive my cruise control was working at the begining than it stop working. Here is the theory. There are 2 sensors on transmission. One inlet and one outlet. They known as speed sensors. When i made my transmission over heat, heat damage the sensors and they start not reading correctly. These sensors telling the gearbox to shift or not shift. Since they are failed transmisson dont know is it need to shift or no. Thats why it is keep going between 1 and 2. Also the same sensors being used by cruise control. Since sensors are not good cruise control is not working. Tomorrow i will replace oil, filter and sensors than we will see. Some people are saying that flushing in higher mileage car is not good. Some saying flush is best some saying just drain and change, keeping some old oil is good because transmission got used to it. https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/transmission-fluid-change-flush-can-cause-problems-618496/

It is like the middle one. Actually i am not keeping it on 1 or 2. Whenever i am going around bowl or something, i am engaging it to make it not to shift. Only for few seconds.

It look brownish but not so dark. I didn't smell it. I will check the smell also.

When I first bought my Jeep it was shifting bit rough. Than I found out that oil level was less. When we add 1lt oil it started shifting like a dream. Lately(probably after my last off road drive I got transmission over heat light) i feel like it is having issue to shift between 1 to 2. If I am speeding properly it is shifting OK but if I am driving very slowly or accelerating slowly it shifting roughly. What I mean it is shaking the car. It is like it can't decide to stay on 1 or shifting 2. I feel like it is going 2 than 1 than again 2. I am thinking maybe since the transmission got over heat oil got bad and I need to change oil. I guess the bad option is transmission got damage. what is your ideas? Other than the shifting 1-2 all other gears shifting very very smooth even 2-1 down shift is good.

It looks like a good idea but doing it yourself should be cheaper for you. When i change my oil there myself it will be expensive than the taking it to Ajman and ask for mechanic to change it.
