  1. Good you got the KYB shocks, i am pretty happy with them too. http://www.jmg.com.gt/en/oil-shock-absorbers-or-gas
  2. Making a separate club will mix up a lot of topics and information. As we currently have sub-categories for every brand and vehicle type already , it might be better to make to make a "essentials tutorial" for your specific vehicle, based on your own experiences, for example how to unlock and remove spare wheel, how to check the fluids, etc... In your case for example, you could post a topic here: https://carnity.com/forums/forum/410-nissan-xterra-forum-in-uae You can give it a nice name like "ESSENTIALS FOR XTERRA OWNERS" and include the basic things to look for: 1) where to check the fluids (location of the level gauges). 2) How to unlock and remove the spare wheel. 3) Differences between 2H and 4H and max speed. I made something similar for Pajero a while back, specifically focused on the 4x4 modes: https://carnity.com/forums/topic/15504-pajero-drive-modes
  3. On the rear you will need to remove the ball (you can unscrew it), or otherwise get a receiver hitch like this: I do not immediately see a towpoint at the front, which could be typical for an import model could you send a more detailed photo ? You should have a similar looking towpoint in the front like in below photo: If you do not have this, you can find them in most AdventureHQ shops or get something strong and decent fabricated in a workshop. Recovery points at both front and back are an absolute necessity for offroading in the desert.

If not been used recently, ensure that you take it out and check the condition properly. Also ensure that you have the wrench that can be used to remove your tyre (if needed). 7. Hi @Leon Haywood Welcome to Carnity Offroad Club. @Srikumar has a Jeep Cherokee and will be able to help out as well. With regards to switching off the airbags we emphasize on this for modern cars that have side airbags / curtain airbags, as these are connected to an inclinometer and have the tendency to trigger when you start doing dynamic dune driving. Your cherokee only comes with frontal airbag which would only come in out severe frontal crash (where it will protect you). If you share a picture of the front and back of the vehicle we can have a look at the front and back towpoints. Normally on these cars it should be there.
  8. And that is why i asked multiple times if you were sure that it was a 3.5 as i could not recall 3.5 models on that generation Pajero (or maybe rare). To complicate matters even more, the 3.0liter 6G72 was made in SOHC 12Valve configuration with 146Hp (like mine) and in 24Valve SOHC configuration like yours (+/- 170 hp). The 6G74 3.5 is made in SOHC version (regular pajero 3.5 models with 190hp) and rare DOHC engine that @Gaurav has 225hp). The DriveArabia website shows quite accurate information about the GCC models, as Pajero/Montero was made all over the world in many different configurations.
  9. Hi @Ahab Shamaa i am a little bit concerned when it comes to the Pedal Commander. I understand how it works (the throttle output signal that goes to the ECU is being altered). I would presume that the OEM would fine-tune the throttle response signal from the factory based on reducing internal stresses, for example the stress on the drive-train must be a lot higher when accelerating from standstill in Sport+ mode, potentially damaging gears, shafts, or other mechanical points. Or am i overthinking this ? I once saw a promotional video from the PC where the guy put it on his Pajero and drove around Al Quoz, and the car drove super agressive in Sports+ mode, which really looked and sounded unnatural and not very healthy.
  10. Sorry to hear that @Thomas Varghese. You are right: The Xterra has locked center differentials in 4WD. Many other off-road vehicles have open diffs with viscous coupling (Pajero in 4H) that would allow for driving on the highway.
  11. I heard you did well on the LIWA drive, so you'll be fine. The dune drops won't be bigger but momentum will be key.
