I am honored to announce we have promoted @M.Seidam to Crew rank within Carnity Offroad Club! Mohammed Seidam joined us about 6 years ago and brought with him an infectious amount of energy and positivity. He quickly moved up in the ranks with his trusty white Xterra, and soon he was leading drives in all different terrains of the UAE. Lately his evening and night drives have been real benchmarks of what Carnity Community Spirit is all about. He is one of our best mentors and is looking over us like a father to a son, and anyone who joins his drives will be in the best possible hands. It goes without saying that we are extremely thankful and proud for his efforts and time given back to our community, and the time has come for Mohammed Seidam to help us to strategize the future of Carnity and to keep innovating. Thank you Seidam! CREW OFFROAD RANK The Crew Offroad Rank has been designed for senior Offroaders who have consistently been driving with our club, while pushing the boundaries with new strategies, techniques, and a genuine heart for the club and its future. As a small core group, it aims to analyze the club progress, and heavily focuses on the growth, quality, and leadership. Crew members are also the ones who perform the leaders lead sessions and continue to mentor our new leads and supporting members.

Hi @Ahmed Farouk i fully understand. We choose the Faqa area as it is very spacious and the entry point can accommodate this number of vehicles. There are not so many entry points nowadays where you can park 60+ cars safely. 6AM is indeed early. I chose it knowing that upon arrival it will take some time to deflate and there will be lots of meeting and greeting to see friends we have not seen in quite a long time. By 6.30AM i want to get the convoy moving and we need to take into account the hot weather, as upon arrival at Crescent Moon Lake we will form a human circle and some people will stick around for conversations. After 10AM it gets really hot these days.

Great to see your message @Barry. The anecdotes you shared are so much like Gaurav. Many of us in the club and his inner circle have countless stories and i will never forget the experiences i shared with him. He will be surely missed, but i am extremely thankful for what he has taught us and we will definitely continue the legacy.

I am honored to announce we have promoted @Ale Vallecchi to Crew rank within Carnity Offroad Club! A trailblazer and explorer pur sang, Ale joined us about eight seven years ago and immediately raised the bar for many of us leads. His innovative drive concepts, themes, and ideas have transformed the way we plan and execute drives immensely. His mentorship ability and the way he moves his FJ through the dunes effortlessly (it was hard to find a photo in the gallery 😁) is simply remarkable. It goes without saying that we are extremely thankful and proud for his efforts and time given back to our community, and the time has come for Ale to help us to strategize the future of Carnity and to keep innovating. Thank you Ale! On to another 300+ drives! Dear @omarabbas I took the liberty to use ChatGPT and it came back with the following: 1) Home charging (most common) 6 Install a Level 2 AC wall charger at home (villa or some apartments) Typically charges overnight (6–10 hours depending on battery) Connected to your electricity provider (like DEWA in Dubai) 👉 This is the cheapest + most convenient option 👉 Many new buildings in UAE are already EV-ready 🏢 2) Public AC chargers (slow–medium speed) 6 Found in: malls (Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates) offices & residential areas hotels and public parking Usually Type 2 AC chargers (22–43 kW) Charging time: 2–6 hours 💡 Dubai alone has 300+ to 700+ chargers depending on how counted, with wide coverage across the city ⚡⚡ 3) DC fast chargers (quick top-ups) 6 Located at: petrol stations (ENOC / ADNOC) highways major roads Power: 50 kW up to 150+ kW Charge time: 20–45 minutes for ~80% 👉 This is what you’ll use on road trips or when in a hurry 🌍 4) Charging networks & apps Main network: DEWA Green Charger (Dubai Electricity & Water Authority) You can: scan QR codes use a charging card or pay via app There are 400+ DEWA chargers accessible via app/dashboard Other ways: Apps like Electromaps / PlusX help locate nearby chargers Cadillac’s own app can also help find stations 🏎️ 5) Tesla & third-party chargers Tesla Superchargers exist (mainly for Tesla, but some newer ones may support CCS) Many third-party chargers support CCS standard, which Cadillac EVs use 🔌 Compatibility (important for Cadillac) Cadillac EVs (GM platform): Use CCS Combo (Type 2 in Europe/UAE) → fully compatible with UAE chargers Can use: AC Type 2 public chargers DC CCS fast chargers 👉 So you won’t have compatibility issues in UAE 💰 Typical charging costs (Dubai) AC charging: ~AED 0.70/kWh DC fast: ~AED 1.20/kWh Some malls still offer free or limited free charging 🧠 Bottom line With a Cadillac EV in UAE, you can charge: 🏠 At home → daily charging (best option) 🏢 At malls/offices → while parked ⛽ At fast chargers → quick top-ups on the go 📱 Via apps/networks → easy access across the country 👉 And because Dubai alone has hundreds of chargers and growing fast, range anxiety is pretty low now.

I am honored to announce we have promoted @Asif Hussain to Crew rank within Carnity Offroad Club! Asif has been amongst us from the start and a mentor to many offroaders. He has never been afraid to organize drives in remote terrains, but his meticulous planning always brought everyone back home safely. His technical skills, ability to keep a cool head in every situation, and his warm approach to mentoring others have never gone unnoticed. As a Crew member, Asif can now help us to develop the club further, carrying the club ethos of creating a family of likeminded adventurers, where we not just drive together, but we socialize, create friendships and bond, and become your second family in the UAE. Frederic replied to Frederic's topic in Off-Road Club's Announcements
I've said it before and i'll say it again: Pajero leads are fantastic leads ! All kidding aside, your genuine appetite for the desert clearly shines, and in combination with your humble and warm character it will result in a great Carnity lead very soon! Looking forward to your future growth!! -
Congratulations @Andrew John Melvill on reaching the Advisor Level with Carnity Offroad Club! We’re excited to see you grow further and guide others in mastering the art of off-roading in a safe and enjoyable way. 🏅 Advisor Level The Advisor Level is the cornerstone of Team Carnity’s structure. Even as you progress to higher ranks, you will always remain an Advisor first. This role is about constructively helping, supporting, and advising others with mutual respect as part of our multicultural family. Advisors are encouraged to share ideas, ask questions, and exchange views at any level - always respectfully, professionally, and confidentially for internal use. This is the stage where your biggest transformation begins - from skilled off-roader to capable leader. 📌 Leaders Lead Session At this level, you’ll join the exclusive Leaders Lead sessions - an intensive program with homework and pre-drive preparation. These sessions, conducted by Crew members for a select few Advisors, cover: Advanced Sand Reading & Planning – terrain assessment, level setting, and emergency exits. Navigational Leadership – using software to manage and scale convoy leads. Extreme Convoy Management – leading, recovering, and handling convoys in the toughest UAE deserts. This is exclusive, invaluable training available only to Advisors. 🚙 Path to Expert Level Once you’ve completed the three steps above, you’ll be eligible to start leading under supervision: Minimum 2 partial leads in daytime Fewbie drives (under Expert/Marshal/Crew supervision). Minimum 4 full Fewbie leads planned, posted, and executed (Expert/Marshal/Crew supervision). You may take on additional partial or full leads if you’d like more time to build confidence. Upon successfully completing this journey, you’ll qualify for Expert promotion - a milestone that marks the beginning of your leadership legacy.

Thank you all for joining today ! We set off under a bright blue sky and headed immediately into the first cordon of technical dunes where I could already see how strong the convoy would be today. Even the boys with the big trucks were flexing their axles with ease and took all the challenges I threw at them with a big smile 😃 as we moved to the second part I started to notice my clutch didn’t engage anymore (which is an old sore that I’ve been throwing parts at for the last months but to no avail). This meant parts two and three were to be done in first gear only 😅. Nevertheless i think we had some great fun out, and perhaps next time when the problem is revolved we can push it a bit more and include Little Sweihan as the bonus area into the mix. Hope you all enjoyed and thanks to @Jose Luis Campos for his superb second lead, and @Andrew John Melvilland @Frans Mfor the help on the drive. https://loc.wiki/t/260019290?wa=sc see you all in the sand soon !

@Jose Luis Campos@Eddie-Dune-Glider@Infaz@Carl Stanley@_Herman_@Andrew John Melvill@Shahid Mehmood@Ash S.@Myrko@Zsolt@Mei Ling@Frans M Thank you all for signing up! We will be using Channel 8 tomorrow: 446.18125 Mhz Please try to arrive by 7.45AM so you have time to deflate and set up your flag, so we can get the convoy in the sand by 8AM. I will have a last look tonight at 9PM to see if any dropouts occurred. If so i will add someone from the waitlist and tag his/her name. As this is a FB+ drive you can probably imagine that i cannot stretch the convoy beyond 13 in total. See you all in the morning !
