  1. Nope, i bought it from an international trucker who took it on his trailer on the way back from UK to Belgium. It still had the UK license plate on it. But classic cars can be definitely registered in Belgium if they are either LHD or RHD.
  2. Was planning to do the same to this crappy Range Rover that i bought in Belgium, but ended up selling it again to an enthousiast who had more time than me restore it.
  3. Happy New Year ! Thanks Richard, i noticed you also signed up for the Intermediate drive. Better to sign-out for that one.
  4. UPDATE: Drive is cancelled due to low sign-up which is expected at this time of year. We will be having an Absolute Newbie and also an Intermediate Level drive on the same morning, so kindly select one of these drives. @Wrangeld @Shamil Please confirm that you have seen this message. Thanks ! BR, Fred

  6. Horrible accident. Looking at the dune formation I have the impression he ended up in a very soft patch or indeed stalled as he lost momentum in a split second.
  7. Jawaher would have so much fun in these farmlands !
  8. Omg now i remember that one ! That was so popular in Belgium !
  9. With so many nationalities in Carnity, i thought it would be nice to share 1 single defining picture of your hometown or area. I will start with sharing a nice photo a friend of mine took a few days back. Country: Belgium City: Merelbeke Description: The river "Scheldt". The Scheldt is a 350-kilometre long river in northern France, western Belgium, and the southwestern part of the Netherlands.
  10. To start off the New Year, I would like to invite all Fewbies and above to explore the beautiful area of Murquab - Lisaili. This area has a nice mix of medium tall dunes and smaller technical areas that will definitely keep you on your toes. We will explore and alternate between side sloping and basic ridge crossing techniques, and enjoy whatever this area has to offer. Depending on the pace and progress we will either head off towards the Maktoum Solar area or Qudra Lakes. This drive is for Fewbie and above level only. Please check if you have all required tools and gear on board as per your assigned drive level. When: 03 January 2020, Friday Meeting time: 07:00 AM, the convoy will move sharply at 07:15 AM Where: First Emarat Petrol Station after outlet mall on Dubai - Al Ain road GPS Coordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/7pRg8Lb1N3s Level of drive: Fewbie and above Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 10 inches of ground clearance. Plan: Drive and enjoy until about 11:45 AM, with some small breaks in between to have breakfast and snacks. What to bring along: Some snacks, plenty of water - whatever you like with little extra to share, smiles, stories, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 11:45 AM
  11. If you have an old Smartphone lying around the house, you can easily make a dash cam out of it too. I downloaded an app called Smart Dash Cam on IOS which I use to record our drives sometimes. It only starts recording when you are actually moving, and makes videoclips of 2-3 mins each that you can upload to your Google Drive or Dropbox. It can also record on impact. The only negative thing is that I have to remove the phone when the car is parked in the clear sun or high temperature. The problem with the very cheap dash-cams is the so-called 720 or 1080 quality which they like to put on the box, but when using it you will come to see that reading numberplates or more detailed data will be difficult to extract, which then basically makes it almost worthless to use.
  12. Won’t make it guys. But my heart and warmest wishes go out to all of you and hope to see you all in the Arabian Deserts very soon.
  13. Love it ! This definitely fits the direction they are going into.
  14. Thanks for the warm congratulations guys ! Sometimes even I am at a loss of words, so I’ll just say it with a famous theme song to explain what the Carnity family stands for: It's like you're always stuck in second gear When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year, but I'll be there for you (When the rain starts to pour) I'll be there for you (Like I've been there before) I'll be there for you ('Cause you're there for me too)
  15. Have a look at all the possible types of Pajeros in China: https://www.chinacarforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=52112 https://carnewschina.com/2013/11/11/president-xi-jinping-has-a-new-parade-car-in-china/
