ANNOUNCEMENT Recall for C-Class Cabriolet (205 platform), G-Class AMG (463 platform) In coordination with the Competition Consumer Protection Department in the Ministry of Economy, and in line with the keenness of the Ministry of Economy to conduct an ongoing review of all the products in the UAE and provide the customer with the required protection, Gargash Enterprises and Emirates Motor Company announce that the following Recalls will be carried out in the UAE for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Bonding of beltline trim C-Class Cabriolet (205 platform) Model Year 2017-2018 VIN range: 205 F 399635 until F 660468 Maximum speed in reverse gear G-Class AMG (463 platform) Model Year 2017 ( 4 vehicles affected ) The announcement has been aligned jointly with Gargash Enterprises and Emirates Motor Company and the Ministry of Economy -Department of Competition Consumer Protection to inform customers about the launch of an inspection of the affected vehicles which are imported in UAE. Any necessary rectification work will be free of charge for the customers. Gargash Enterprises and Emirates Motor Company will be contacting all respective customers requesting all customers who own an affected vehicle to have their vehicles inspected. Al Majid Motors Co. as KIA sole dealer announces a safety recall campaign on KIA carnival. Following communication with KIA motors Co., Al-Majid Motors has started a recall campaign on 3,239 KIA carnival produced between 10/06/2005 ~ 11/04/2014. This campaign aims to inspect Integrated Circuit Relay Box module and install new cover and/or replace the module on some Carnival vehicles, which might exhibit damage in the module due to moisture ingress. In the interests of delivering the highest standards of KIA quality and customer care, Al Majid Motors has begun contacting customers with affected models to inform them about the situation and arrange booking accordingly. L.L.C., AL GHANDI AUTO and Bin Hamoodah Auto In coordination with the Ministry of Economy - Department of Competition and Consumer Protection, and in line with the directives of the Ministry of Economy, to conduct an ongoing review of all products in the UAE to provide the consumer with the required protection, General Motors announces a service recall for 2014-2015 Chevrolet Caprice vehicles from 24th December 2017. These vehicles may experience loss of electric power steering ("EPS") assistance while driving or idling as a result of fretting corrosion on the connector between the EPS module and the torque sensor. If power steering assist is lost, manual steering functionality is retained but would require an increased steering effort, particularly at lower speeds, increasing the risk of a crash. General Motors have taken the decision jointly with the Ministry of Economy to launch a maintenance Year Division Model campaign to inspect the vehicles involved in the UAE and, if required, complete the necessary repairs to ensure customers' peace of mind. The vehicles are safe to drive and customers who own models for which the last eight digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) fall into the range below, will soon be contacted by a General Motor's dealer to arrange a convenient time for the repair work. ANNOUNCEMENT. Special Service Campaign Statement: Service recall for a limited number of Q5 vehicles manufactured between 2010 and 2016. In coordination with the UAE Ministry of Economy-Department of Consumer Protection, and in line with the directives of the Ministry of Economy, Audi Middle East announces a Special Service Campaign for a limited number of Audi Q5 vehicles which will be effective immediately. United Arab Emirates, Dubai, 27.06.17. Al Nabooda Automobiles and Ali and Sons, the exclusive distributors of Audi in the UAE, have released the following statement: `We regret to say we have found that the pressure cylinders of the curtain airbag can corrode over time if water has entered the vehicle interior as a result of a defect in the water drain system of the panoramic sunroof. This can cause the pressure cylinder to malfunction'. All repairs for related to this service campaign will be completed free of charge to the customer. A total of 1847 vehicles are affected in Dubai/Northern Emirates and 12 54 vehicles in Abu Dhabi/Al Ain manufactured between May 2010 and August 2016. No other vehicles are affected. In these vehicles, the over speed warning (chime noise and Driver Information Center message) does not operate when the vehicle speed exceeds 120km/h as required by the Gulf Standardization Organizations regulations.
