Dear Desertnauts, get ready to follow in the tracks of the DCT Champions, chasing after the most valuable "Red Waypoints" of last month's challenge. The meeting and deflation point is quite far if coming from Dubai. It'll be on the left of the Razeen Road, which you will take off of the E30. Keep in mind to refuel with a full tank at the last available gas stations, which are the ADNOC Station Razeen #128 on E30, or ADNOC Station Al Faya #891 on the E22, both in the Al Khatim area. To reach the actual meeting point along Razeen Rd. you do not have to follow the Google Maps directions all the way to the roundabout of Al Quaa Rd. but can cross the tarmac the moment you see the meeting point marked on the left of the tarmac. Consider at least 2 hours from Dubai to arrive at the starting point. Kindly arrive a little earlier then 2:30, so that we may depart as soon as possible. The drive plan will hopefully take 3 hours and a half, from entry to exit (If all goes well). We do not plan to stop for breaks (if possible), so please make sure you carry all the water and refreshments you need on board with you. The convoy order at the moment is the following: @Sunil Mathew in Second Lead @Alex T at #3 @Mohit Gurnani at #4 @Cristian at #5 and @Ashutosh Garg in Sweep. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Exactly @Gaurav. I was looking at our recce's track, and we drove for 3 hours (and 4 minutes), so definitely we could reach most of (if not all) the waypoints in 3 and half hours, if we plan the right track and stay away from that fenced in no-go area. Let's be optimistic and accept the challenge. 🏁

Dear @kazargamze. I just realizzati you had joined the drive. As I believe this is your first drive with Carnity, I ask you to please open and read carefully the links at the top of the drive's post page: Kindly familiarize yourself with its content, the Carnity's safety rules and driving etiquette. I will also brief you and the rest of the convoy before the start. In the meantime, can you please inform if you have a deflating tool, a radio, a flag and a compressor? Thanks a lot for your comments, and see you tomorrow.

Dear Desertnauts, welcome to tomorrow's All Skills Seminar. I have chosen the Ghantoot area (not near the well-known liquor store, but the opposite side of this district, along the E14 - Al Faqa Road), as it offers initially low rolling cordons of dunes, with large open areas in between, that will allow the convoy to familiarize themselves with the terrain and start practicing relatively easy side sloping. As the drive will progress, we will head in the direction of taller dunes, where we can practice crossing the ridges from one side to the other, as well as possibly doing some ridge riding. We should be exiting in the same place we'll enter, but there is an outside possibility that, if the convoy behaves well, we may head up toward Qudra, across an area of quite diverse terrain, to exit near the Bab al Shams Road. A complete briefing on the necessary techniques and skills will precede the drive. The meeting place is easily reachable along the E14 road, coming from both Dubai (from E75), or Abu Dhabi (taking E14 from E11). It's located next to the Seih Hafeir Camp. Once arrived, you may start deflating. The convoy order at the moment looks as follows: @Ben Williams in Second Lead @Ahmed Farouk at #3 @Renier Venter at #4 @kevin at #5 @Aser at #6 @JohanE at #7 @SamBha at #8 @Vijay Cowlagi at #9 @Robk at #10, and @Sunil Mathew in Sweep and Support. We'll pick the most appropriate Carnity radio frequency on the spot (please review the frequencies on our website, or have your radio set for manual tuning, if unsure). Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, with the prayer to arrive a little earlier, so we can start the drive as close to 8:00 AM as possible. Have a nice Friday night.

These were the more difficult waypoints to collect. To this level of difficulty, we'll have to add the time constraint of approximately 3 hours driving time, needing to finish the drive and exit by when the sun goes down (darkness will occur at 5:55PM). Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, face mask, rubber gloves, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 06:00 PM P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.

Dear Desertnauts sorry for the short briefing, due to my return from a long business trip. I will explain more and be more detailed tomorrow, just before starting. In the meantime, find below the convoy order: @PETELCZYC PAJERO - luke in Second Lead @Dan S at #3 @Rafey Hashmi at #4 @mahesh at #5 @Gurcharan Mehta at Center @Abhilash Kottakkal at #7 @Gautam Banka at #8 @frederic demolder at #9 @Sreenath G at #10, and @Ashutosh Garg in Sweep. I do encourage all to come with a full tank, as the drive should be quite long (but not enough to need a jerry can). The radio channel will be chosen on the spot (among Carnity's published frequencies). Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, for a timely departure at 8:00 AM. Have a nice Sunday.

Dear Desertnauts a short briefing for a last-minute drive, almost improvised after it had been thought about several times but never actually done. With the idea in mind to organize long treks, and even cross-emirates full day or weekend drives, it's very important to find a passage between the vast pockets of dunes separated by roads, villages, private properties and nature reserves. This particular drive seeks to join Faqa with Badayer, allowing eventually to drive nonstop between 2nd December (Pink Rock) and Qudra or Ghanthoot, via Badayer, Faqa and Little Sweihan. Likely the passage from Faqa to Badayer (or vice versa) will not be on clean isolated cordons, but more likely through farms and fenced in areas. Once we reach Area 53, south of Badayer, we'll shoot north toward the planned exit at Badayer shops. The convoy order at the moment looks like this (alternating higher ranks with less experienced drivers): @Looper in Second Lead @Gautam Banka at #3 @Pacific at #4 @frederic demolder at #5 @Sunil Mathew at #6 and @FERNANDO SYRIO in Sweep. We'll meet at 3:00 PM, or a little earlier, at a roundabout on the Al Ain-Dubai side of the highway, which should be accessible, coming from Dubai, by taking the exit toward the Faqa Police Station, and turning around, under the highway. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow afternoon.

untilDrive Details Level: Fewbie and above (all levels) Meeting time: 3.00 PM (SHARP - Without any exceptions) Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/jr9GSFcWRZCraizJ6 Action Plan: Faqa and Badayer are two of Dubai's main off-roading spots. They are separated by an area dominated by a nature reserve, which makes it difficult, or at least very unusual, to want to join these two areas in one single drive. We'll be looking for the passage from Faqa to the southern-most sector of Badayer, also known as Area 53, or Al Madam. Once through this corridor, we'll head up to Super and Iftar Bowl, with the goal of exiting at Badayer shops. This route should open up future possibilities for long 1-day tracks, from Pink Rock all the way to Faqa and beyond, or vice versa. Bring your explorers' mood. Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, face mask, rubber gloves, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 6:00 PM P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.
