Dear @Shane Phillips. Thanks a lot for joining the drive. A couple of things, as you are an Absolute Newby with Carnity. First, please make sure you have gone through the briefing video posted in the drive's thread. Secondly, can you please let me know if you have any previous experience with off-roading on sand? There will be an extended briefing before the drive begins, but any information you may share about your experience will be valuable. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday. Have a nice evening.

MUST READ AND COMPLY Environmental Policy Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities First time with Carnity Off-road Club: Please share your vehicle details - Make, Model, Color, and Year. Do you have any prior off-road experience? If yes, pls share details. Confirm your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks/eyelets. Advise if you don’t have a programmable radio and safety flag. MUST WATCH: NEWBIE VIDEO BRIEFING Drive Details Level: Newbie and above Meeting time: 03:30 PM Meeting Point: TBC Action Plan: Beginner off roaders usually need to familiarize themselves with a few key maneuvers and skills, necessary to drive on sand (even if they have been off-roading on mixed and rocky terrains). These driving skills, at a minimum, are 1) straight crossing of dunes, 2) side sloping and 3) ridge riding (in this case it will be on wide, not dangerous, ridges). On top of these, we'll look into easy self-recovery maneuvers. Each of these skills will be presented, demonstrated and practiced, individually, by each member, so that they may leave the drive having gained a more in-depth knowledge of the essential elements of sand driving. Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 07:00 PM P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive. LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE: This drive is limited to 12 cars only. RSVP will close on Saturday at noon. If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist. Once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list. RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list. Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions. Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions. Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others. Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month. Please RSVP on below calender

Dear Desertnauts. A very short and quick briefing for tomorrow's drive. We aim to spend 2 hours driving at good pace (say as close as possible to 30 Km/h. moving speed), equally divided between the clean dunes of south Lisaili and the secret dunes of Qudra. We'll take a couple of breaks, and will hopefully enjoy a nice sunset hour, close to the lakes and the herds of gazzelles that usually sprint out of the woods at this time of the day. The convoy order at the moment will be the following: @Andrew John Melvill in Second Lead @Rajath Shetty at #3 @Yerem Davtyan at #4 @Warbs at #5 @Chema at #6 @Steffi at #7 @Giacomo at Center @Ana at #9 @saumik1989 at #10 @Thomas54675 at #11 @khurram at #12 and @Piter at #13 and @J-P L in Sweep. See you tomorrow in mid-afternoon to enjoy the golden hours on golden sand.

Hello @Lvc. Good to have you join the club. I can lend you a tire deflator tomorrow. You can purchase whatever you wish among the off-roading gear at your convenience. Nonetheless, deflation tools, and most of all 1) FLAG, 2) 2-WAY RADIO and possibly 3) PORTABLE COMPRESSOR are necessary. The last 2 are surely available at Dragonmart at the mechanical tools' section., For tomorrow just make sure you have the flag, which is mandatory. You can find flags mountable with a suction cap to a side or back window of your car. See you tomorrow.

Dear Desertnauts. Before the short briefing for tomorrow drive, I have just added the meeting and deflation point on the drive's post. We will meet and deflate here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/MR8j8TtNwyhKbRLe9 Consider arriving a little before the scheduled time, so we can deflate before getting ready to go. A thorough briefing about off-roading notions (mechanical needs, different terrains, driving skills, warnings, convoy discipline, etc.) will be given before leaving. We'll find some shaded area to conduct it. Please make sure you bring a fully charged radio to the drive. There may not ba any spare radios available, and without a fully functioning radio no members will be permitted to drive, for safety reasons. In spite of the vegetation that has grown abundant in this and other areas of the UAE, we'll do our best to find, and drive on, the cleanest possible dunes, so that all the necessary off-roading skills may be safely taught and practiced. The convoy order at the moment is the following: @Ana in Second Lead @Jakob T at #3 @Lvc at #4 @Artur Davtyan at #4 @J-P L at Center @Oussama at #6 @Kishor at #7 @Asif Ahamed at #8 and @khurram in Sweep. Enjoy your Friday evening, and see you tomorrow.

Hello @Jakob T. Thanks for the question. Couldn't give you a batter answer than @Frederic's. I would say that if you (or the garage) don't have enough time to check fix your rear bumper, we'll find way to minimize any possible damage to it, if any may occur at all. Many Pajero's such has yours have come into the desert with Carnity, and exited unscathed 😁. Our philosophy is to teach off-roading skills so that members learn to maximize their knowledge based on their stock car, before they move on with modifications. Frederic's suggestions are just to better protect your car. I would add that it's best to remove the rear bumper even before you consider a rear skid plate, at virtually no cost. If you'll enjoy your outing, and wish to further pursue off-roading, than you can go one step further. Looking forward to seeing you.
