You know, it is surprising how effective was the response of the traction every single time I went to the throttle to overcome the spots having soft sand and also to climb those small dunes. The Subaru AWD system is the best. It would be amazing if this car had 4low gear and some kind of rear diff lock as well. But this is not the meaning of this car.
However, for a newbie light fun drive, the car is appropriate.
I have not had any refusal, however my hands were shaking every time I had to go drive down those dunes. It fells like you are going to free fall from the edge of the dune.
For the record, i have killed some desert plants LOL. The victims where there in my bumper LOL
Looking forward for the next newbie drives
Subaru Outback.
The car has 8.7 inches of ground clearance.
It's has the connection holes in front and also in the back bumpers. My only concern was to confirm with more experience drivers if these are appropriate to recover in the desert. To recover the car you need to strap in the screw (the one on the photo above). Often I drive this car over the sand when I go camp with friends, places like milky way spot, Al wathbah, I got stucked once, and I was able to recover myself using the traction tracks, however I have never tried dune bashing. Now I'm curious to see if the car is capable of some light drive on the desert. I'll post the photos tomorrow morning.
i wanted to try this drive because it's gonna happen here in Abu Dhabi.
Well i am not totally newbie, but in fact i never pushed the CRV in off road drive over sand dunes and similar tests
I have tried the sand in the summer, under 40º degrees C, it did good, the car did not overheat or any other issue, even without deflating the tires. But i did not try to clime dunes. This is the only footage i have playing on the sand
I will check the front, but back hooks it am sure this car has.
I have the compressor and the traction tracks, i keep them on the trunk all the time.
Where i can buy the radio here in UAE ?
Good afternoon
I am new on the club. Right now i am buying all the safety items listed on this forum.
Before think about join the next off road drives I need to ask a dummy question...
I have a honda CRV AWD, i have drove this car in a fell occasions on the sand , driving on the beach. Do you think this car is appropriate to join you on thi drive?
