  10. The plan is to have a sunset FB+ level drive covering Lisaili, Murqab and Qudra for around 3 hours in total from 4- 7 PM. Post 7PM, we find a nice spot very close to exit point and have a campfire & enjoy the weather. It is optional to stay back for campfire part. As we would finish the drive very close to a exit track, drive members are free to leave anytime after 7pm. We can wrap up the camp fire around 10-11 PM. Thing’s to keep: camp chair, 1 pack of wood per driver, snacks for yourself.

  13. Oh Liwa!! Congratulations team FB+ for the Liwa Crossing accomplishment. We had a relatively short convoy as there were few dropouts and @Mus_hus78had to exit very early due to 4WD issues. Couldn't ask for more. Every thing was perfect, the convoy, terrain, camping. There were lots of climbs, huge bowls and drops that were almost 150+m @Gertjan was the prefect second lead. I felt very comfortable driving in front of you. Always kept good distance and your awareness was fantastic. And thanks to all the pictures and videos. @Jona and @Brett Eicher were the only FB+ in the convoy. But you guys allowed me to push to an IM level and handling it so well. @imranaasghar81 looking forward for the 360 clips. @Senthil Kumar & @Alexanderrr had no issues handling churned track. @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler & @Lawrence_Chehimithanks for your support. Thanks to others for supporting the supports. Looking forward for next Liwa drive. Drive Stats We covered almost 180kms in total. We drove very close to Saudi Border taking more of dunes and less Sabhka.

  15. Good point @Looper regarding the switch area. For wranglers JL, the sand and dust can pass through the switch gaps and can make the switches stuck. I had to change the whole panel once as the hazard lights were not going off. If not under warranty, it can cost 2K plus. So I got the below cap that can be easily put on during desert drives, and I remove once the drive is over. It gives complete protection to the switch area. Additionally when I take the hard top off, I have a sun shade protection. This can help reduce the sand coming inside.
  16. Dear @rohit kumar As per the Carnity drive record, you are a newbie. This drive is a fewbie plus level drive; hence can only add fewbie plus and above ranks only.
  17. Hi folks, I have had my Wrangler for more than 3 years now, but never taken it for a desert drive with open top. Weather is fantastic, So I am thinking of posting a drive with only open Wranglers/ Broncos. I would like to take interest of other Wrangler/ Bronco members. Plan is to have a Fewbie level drive end of January if we have enough interest. I am sure main concern would be about sand and dust going inside the car. Hence if we plan this drive, we will try our best to minimize sand going inside by avoiding any self recoveries that may throw sand in, avoid dusty path etc. Prior to the drive, we could also help each other in getting the top off from the vehicle I have added a poll to gauge the interest. Cheers!

  21. Let's aim to cross the Liwa Crescent from one side to another. To experience the magic of Rub’ al Khali (Empty Quarter) the largest uninterrupted desert on Earth! The Liwa Crossing through Empty Quarter offers a chance to witness nature in its purest form and in itself is a transcendent experience. However, traveling through the largest desert in the world is not something that should be taken lightly. It will be a 150 - 200 km off-road drive covered within 1.5 days through amazing breathtaking views and the enormous size of dunes on earth. What you will find here: Tallest sand dunes (200 - 300 meters) Steepest incline and drops Longest side sloping Broad ridge riding Faster heartbeat Sweaty hands Mandatory rules for Liwa Crossing (exceptional) drive. Considering its seriousness to keep you and your vehicle safe, these strict rules will be applied to all. For Fewbie Plus level you must have driven at least 2 Fewbie Plus drives with Carnity in the last 2 months. If you are newly promoted Fewbie Plus (less than 2 drives at Fewbie Plus level), then select Fewbie drive. If you were away on a long break (more than 2 months), then select Fewbie drive. It is highly recommended to drive alone, as it's a very serious and demanding drive to stay focused at all times. Maximum of one passenger allowed - No exceptions and trip lead will send you back. Make sure that passenger has no fear of heights, motion sickness and have been to full-day off-road drives before. As once we enter the desert, the only way out is from the other side, without any early exits for 100-150 kms. Everything in your car should be strapped and secured - All vehicles will be checked by the trip lead. Drive Preparation: Your car should be in 100% pristine working condition, so double or triple check everything. Full-size spare tire with a lug wrench to match your wheel nut size and its depth. For aftermarket rims - Your lug wrench also needs to match the wheel nut depth. As it's a long full-day drive, so catch up with enough sleep in advance. 5-10 liter of water per person. Snacks for breakfast, lunch, dinner and next day breakfast. Keep your car as light as possible by packing what is truly essential. Fully charged radio with spare battery and all other required off-road gears. Gas tank and required number of jerry cans should be full upon arrival.
