  1. Thank you @Asif Hussain for an amazing drive yesterday. From far away, these dunes are majestic, coming closer they are full of traps. You led us through this maze of steep climbs, soft patches, ditches and narrow pockets to finally reach endless views of open rolling dunes, clean sand and deep bowls. Great testament to your skills and experience ! @Andrew John Melvill and @Marek, thank you for sharing the day. We had a great time driving together and sharing the recovery works !
  2. We had a great drive this morning. This area of Nahel is never disappointing, and we could enjoy beautiful desert scenery. Of course, the purpose was driving, and we did it totally, taking benefit from the variety of terrain available. We started with nice open dunes as a warm up, practicing a few straight crossings. The sand was soft and humid in shady places, requiring accurate steering and power dosing. After the break, we came to a few bigger climbs, and a technical area, to finally reach the Ghafeteen Bowl, where we could play around, releasing the power of the cars to climb to the top and loop around. We realized also that the descent is part of the learning, and controlling the car to go down straight at a controlled pace is not that easy. Then is was time to reach the exit, crossing again the technical area before reaching the sand track. A quick pull at the end was the only recovery, the other stuck situations have been all self recovered. @Yurybel, your car is now ready for the next level, and soon will you be also. Thank you for the 2nd Lead. Except for one climb where you were over-steering, and had a bit of difficulty to stabilise the descent, you had an excellent control of your car during the drive. @Dipu Francis once your tire pressure was adjusted, you had better traction. With more drives, you will become more confident and make the best use of the power available with the FJ. @saumik1989 with more practice, you will become more confident on the crossings, and avoid getting stuck on the top. You gained also better understanding of the climbs, well done. @Zubail thank you for the sweep. Excellent drive on your side, and good communications, thank you. You can post your photos in the gallery, and your comments here. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and see you soon.
  3. There is fog on the road. Take your time and drive safely, I will wait for you.

  5. Dear Desert Drivers @Yurybel @saumik1989 @Dipu Francis Thank you for signing up for the drive tomorrow. Please make sure your car is ready for the outdoors, and remove unnecessary items from the back seat and trunk areas. Please take the time also to program your radio, referring to the post above if you need to. I will indicate by the end of the day the convoy order. stay tuned ! Please check your route to reach the meeting point. Coming from Nahel on the E95, about 300m before the final location, you will see a road to your right, with a sign "...Winter Camp..." Take that road. It is closed by a fence. Reach slowly to the fence, it will open by itself. Then continue until you see the other cars.
  6. Hi @Kuba Roszyk You will need to have a flag attached to your car for the drive. It is important for your safety and the one of other drivers. You can find suction cup mounts at Dragon Mart or Off Road garages. Please confirm also you have front and rear tow hooks or eyelets, and indicate if you have previous offroad experience. Thank you
  7. Hi @Dipu Francis, thank you for the introduction. For the radio, you can refer to this very useful post. Please take the time to program the 10 Carnity frequencies BEFORE the drive. (It is easier to do it quietly at home rather than in the sand. Looking forward to meeting you on Saturday !

  23. Thank you @Luke K P for the perfect summary., and for sweeping the convoy. You were all excellent yesterday, and we were able to maintain a nice flow cruising these big dunes, making the drive very enjoyable for all. Great job from @Bjoern supporting the few refusals with accurate guidance. Well done @Carl Stanley for your first FB, you were directly pushed into a higher level. @Misha Puskar, @Martin M, nice way to come back after some time out of the sand. @Michael asir, your driving is accurate, very well done. @ChrisW you had the possibility to push the throttle, I'm sure you enjoyed it. @essam ibrahim, great improvement since our last drive together, happy to see that. @Ahmed Farouk @Zulfikhar Naiyar @Beide Worku, good to see you after a long time. @Aser thank you for the 2nd lead, adjusting my lines when needed See you all very soon !
