  1. Can anyone tell me the normal voltage that the alternator in the car should carry. And how can i test the voltage?
  2. Heyguys. Suggest me a two door chevy car. Thanks!
  3. In that acse, you ca still go for A/C condenser flush, but make sure that you perform this with the help of an expert.
  4. I think the rotor needs resurfacing.
  5. Battery is as much important as other engine parts in any car. If battery is dead, then car is dead. Well I remember when I took all battery issues in my car very lightly. I never took care of the car battery. And at the end, the car battery ditched on the middle of the road. So yes people, to avoid that it’s really important to maintain your car battery. After whatever I ignored in a battery, I can suggest following things: Keep it out: Let’s say you are going for a long vacation, leaving your car behind; in that case, don’t keep the battery inside the car. Always uninstall the battery from the car and put it back when you come back from the vacation. Check voltage: It’s really important to check the voltage in a battery every time. This helps in judging if your car battery is charging or not. Battery recharge: If you think your car battery doesn’t recharge automatically, get it recharged manually so that it holds the power for a long time. Replace when dead: Always remember that battery is not a lifetime thing. You need to get it replaced when it’s dead. Check if corrosive: Always scan your car battery for any kind of corrosion on it. Corrosive battery is really dangerous for the complete car engine. Car battery is same as other auto parts in a car, it does need maintenance. Don’t avoid your battery just because you think it never gets damaged. At some time, the battery cannot hold the power because of too much use. It’s really necessary for battery to hold voltage to let the car going. Only the mechanical but all the electronic parts in a car need a battery, be it your AC also.
  6. There are only two brands that suggest to flush the Ac condenser in their car: Ford and GM. If you have ford, then it is stated and approved by Ford brand to flush the condenser butonly with VSL 338 terpene-based solvent. But do not flush it on your own if you dont have any idea about the condenser. You better give your car to the Ford dealer, they will do it for you. If not the dealer, then to a workshop specialized in Ford cars only. But if you are talking about other brands except GM and ford, cendenser flushing in not recomended, but only the replacement.
  7. To reduce tire wear, the est way possible is to maintain the proper air pressure in the car. Sometimes when the sir pressure is too low or too high, it affects the performance of the tires and they run under pressure. In addition to that, also make sure that you avoid driving on off-roads and potholes. Offroad driving is really dangerous for the tires. Potholes develop stress and pressure on the tire surface which increases the wearing and tearing of tires.
  8. Good topic to discuss on. Well I will discuss what I have experienced: DIY: One can avoid some repairs like changing the brake pads, inspecting the suspension, checking he voltage in the car by performing it on your own. I mean dealer/ workshops they charge you real big to do such things but you can actually perform it on your own. But also remember that DIY is something that should be done under some supervision. Don’t DIY: Also remember that if the repair is something big like replacing a clutch or transmission, don’t carry the DIY processing that. These things are really sensitive so it’s better if you leave such sensitive repairs to an expert. Sometimes performing DIY on such sensitive things can lead to heavy loss and may be double the maintenance cost. Regular servicing: Just because you don’t want to waste money in the regular servicing of your car, you don’t give your car for regular maintenance, and there you do the mistake. Don’t skip any servicing that most of the issues can be resolved during the servicing of your car only. Dealer till warranty: Till the time your car is under warranty, always go for replacement of any auto parts to your dealer, and not any local workshop. Local workshop after warranty expired: Once the warranty is expired, you can go to a local workshop for auto repairs and replacement as they are way cheaper than your dealers. Don’t stick to it: Once your car is too old, may be 6 years or more, it’s time for you to say goodbye. Since car is a machine, they are tending to fail after some years. So that time, it’s better for you to change your car and buy a new one so that you don’t have to spend money on the heavy maintenance of the old car.
  9. There is an Autoshop called Yellowhat in time square center on Shk. Zayed road. They have good stuff. ou can check there. But before buying, do look for the specification of brake light switch in your car manual first.
  10. Brake light switch is located underside of the dash. You need to kneel inside the drivers side. You will notice the head screws just behind the brake pedal. basically, there is a cover over there that you need to remove. After removing the cover, you will see the brake light switch which is adjusted by bolta. Remove the switch by unscrewing the bolts and disconneting the electrical connection which supplies power to the switch. Connect the new switch over there and attach the eletic connection to the new switch. Screw the bolts back and put the cover back. Its done!
  11. Nice post. First thing that I will suggest to all the new drivers is to get the GPS installed in the car. I mean if you don’t know the way out in Dubai, you will be stuck in the traffic and may be reaching nowhere. So know the roads very well, before you actually go anywhere.
  12. where is the break light switch located and how do i adjust it. thanks
