  1. Hi Bigboss I have 2 things to tell you: - Don't go for any 4 cylinder it's DSG 7 speed with mechatronics headache - Carbon issues can be solved in 6 cylinder as long as you sure about (air mass sensor, spark plugs, CO sensor, fuel type 95/98 octane, synthetic oil grade 10W40 & 5W30, timing belt and timing advance actuators) and all would show on simple fault code reading after a short test drive and engine shall be warm. Good luck it's a nice choice just from time to time (once monthly) unleash it and let the engine revs and touch the high limits you may notice some smoke on the beginning but later no and you'll enjoy a nice smooth and economy ride.
  2. Hi Imran I think your problems all related to convenience system check convenience menu on the instrument cluster maybe some one changed the setting or you have a fuse need to be replaced.
  3. I don't recommend to go for a used one I think after market would cost you 450 to 600 AED (motor with pump non complete assembly without fuel level sensor or check valve for fuel return line or housing) and you may change filter to avoid doubling the job for 90 to 150 AED. The complete used one would cost you the same but it may work for a 2 to 3 month specially it was dry for some time and we are starting summer and the only thing damages the pump is driving with fuel level under quarter (it cooled by fuel) Good Luck!
  4. would you please advice which car and year and the mileage?
  5. Did you do it ?? Did you do it yourself ?? why don't you post some photos ??
  6. you have to remove the rear seat and you'll find a metal black cover with 3 screws you have to remove it then you'll unlock the big plastic threaded cover around it then you can left up the pump assembly with fuel live sensor if you are going to replace it completely it would be around 1 1/2 hour if you are going to replace the pump only it would be about 2 hours but please be careful about the new pump pressure since it's aftermarket and hoses since it would be hard (it's old and socked in fuel for years) and connections since the fuel return line in the same assembly please be sure not to switch ignition key at any positions to avoid sparks don't smoke try to do it in daylight to avoid any type of heat near by. you may find the after market pump at Damas spear part at Sharjah industrial area - BMW road be sure to have VIN number with you. Good luck.
  7. which car do you have? and there is specialists in automatic transmissions for repairs or replace with reconditioned one which is much faster and they give a warranty.
  8. Any body shop require RTA or police approval to do the paint job even if you are going to use the same color or they may proceed with the documents by them self.
  9. Start the engine and keep the gear on park “P” position and steer the wheels in both direction if the sound is coming it’s about the power steering fluid and pump since it is speed adaptive check fluid level and condition and the mesh in the fluid reservoir and finally the pressure valve which is integrated in the fluid pressure hose (the big screw with spring and metal ball inside it) There is 2 type electrical and normal mechanical runs with the engine depending on the model 4,6 or 8 cylinders
  10. some models requires a special tool to return the piston back in the calibers and start with the front tires then make a test drive and change the rear if it is braking fine and you may need an long screw drive to push the piston back after removing the outsider pad and some models require to spin the rear pistons to push it back in place good luck and be safe. please note some models like A8 after 2003 (without hand brake lever) just a park brake switch the rear brake is electro mechanic dont try to push it or spin it you have to use a hand held via OBD2 to bleed them (release them) and the hard way but not recommended for a beginer you can remove the servo motor and start to spin it manualy then tite it and lose 1 & 1/2 turn then install the servo motor back and go for a test drive for auto calibration (self learning) dont forget to install new brake pad waer sensors!
  11. Factory recommended oil is Castrol and you can find it in Al Barsha next to ENOC petrol station in the car wash station in Oum Soquim road near by mall of the emirates however my experience with ADNOC oils was good performance and low cost also so if your engine in a good condition go for voeger gold 10-W40 I think for 10,000 Km and they would recommend it for 5,000 km only but I used it for over 15,000 on high speeds (high way)and it just became dark black and the level remained the same. please check this link topic192.html
  12. If the car failed in RTA registration inspection you can take this document and go to the workshop or you can just go to the nearest police station and ask them for the approval.
  13. It was Audi 80 2.0E 1990 blue color AT 3 speeds only and I bought it in 2005 in Dubai and drove it for 2 year and then my casein for 1 year and finally a close friend for 18 month and it was always the oldest Audi on the road and the fastest and passed several challenges and I bought it because I dreamed to have it when I was studying in the university and since then I bought many Audi cars.
  14. Mostly it is CO sensor (Exhaust sensor) you may replace it and it will even reflect in fuel consumption but you must check engine ECU diagnostic trouble code (DTC) to be sure other than that sometimes it is ignition coils and the sensor is just indicating to misfire or multi misfire. Good Luck
  15. I agree with you if it is the belt the sound will be continuous and to be sure just drop some water over it while engine is running on idle speed (just a little don’t drown it) and the sound will be heard clearly.unless you have a small coolant leak its for sure coolant pump. I think you have an indication for upcoming mechanical failure with A/C compressor or power steering pump or alternator so check alternator bearing & battery charge on the screen if it’s fine check power steering fluid level and quality and mostly it’s the mesh under the fluid reservoir blocking oil and making the pump jamming. If all are fine go ahead and check your timing belt immediately. Unless your S8 is a V10 which is much different story. Good Luck
  16. Any flashing lights on the dashboard ?
  17. If the car still under warranty removing it will avoid it however I had the same issue and solve it out as following: Push TP switch on the radio for few second till the led on it turns off and the radio will work normally Good Luck
  18. You have CVT 6 speed transmission if your car is 4 or 6 cylinder which is much sensitive to oil type and level and temperature also so you have to be careful about it and about the transmission oil filter and the air flow meter and TPS is also reflecting much on it. It is better to check DTC as a beginning for engine and transmission and ABS/ESP and clear them and go for a test drive after checking oil quality and level and oil filter and cooler performance. If all are fine it may require replacing air flow meter or TPS calibration. Good luck
