ANNOUNCEMENT Safety Recall Campaign for certain 2005-2011 Model Year (MY) Ford Vehicles In coordination with the Competition Consumer Protection Department in the Ministry of Economy and in line with its commitment to conduct an on-going review of all products in the UAE and provide the consumer with the required protection, Al Tayer Motors, the UAE importer - dealer of Ford vehicles, and Premier Motors, the official dealer for Ford vehicles in Abu Dhabi, announce a safety recall campaign for certain 2005 - 2011 Mustang cars, manufactured in the United States of America to replace the passenger airbag inflator. The propellant in certain Takata airbag inflators can experience an alteration over time with exposure to certain climate conditions such as high temperature fluctuations, and humidity, which contribute to its degradation. This degradation can cause the propellant to burn too quickly, creating high pressure inside the inflator, and in extreme cases causing the inflator to rupture in the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment A ruptured inflator can send inflator parts toward vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury. In the UAE, eight vehicles are estimated to be affected by this recall campaign. In the interest of delivering the highest standards of Ford quality and customer care, Al Tayer Motors/Premier Motors will begin contacting the affected customers to inform them about this recall and request them to bring in their vehicles, as soon as the necessary parts are available. The parts required to perform this recall are estimated to be available at the end of Q1 2018 and in Q2 2018. The passenger airbag inflator will be replaced free of charge and every effort will be made to minimise any inconvenience caused during the short time required for the work to be carried out. ANNOUNCEMENT Safety Recall Campaign for certain 2018 Model Year (MY) Ford vehicles In coordination with the Competition Consumer Protection Department in the Ministry of Economy and in line with its commitment to conduct an on-going review of all products in the UAE and provide the consumer with the required protection, Al layer Motors, the UAE importer - dealer of Ford vehicles, and Premier Motors, the official dealer for Ford vehicles in Abu Dhabi, announce a safety recall campaign for 2018 Ford Expedition vehicles, equipped with column shifter and 1 OR80 automatic transmission, and F-150 vehicles, equipped with a 1 OR80 Automatic Transmission, manufactured in the United States of America, to inspect the transmission selector lever cable. In some of the affected vehicles, the transmission selector lever cable adjuster lock clip may not be seated properly, which may allow the transmission to be in a state different than the shift lever position selected by the driver. This condition could allow the driver to move the shifter to Park and remove the ignition key, while the transmission gear may not be in Park. This could happen without an instrument panel warning message, or warning chime when the driver's door is opened, indicating the vehicle is not secured in Park. If the parking brake is not applied, these conditions could result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of accident or injury. In the UAE, 1,093 vehicles are estimated to be affected by this recall campaign. In the interest of delivering the highest standards of Ford quality and customer care, Al layer Motors/Premier Motors will begin contacting the affected customers to inform them about this recall and request them to bring in their vehicles for an inspection of the selector lever cable and adjustment, if necessary. The inspection will be done free of charge and every effort will be made to minimise any inconvenience caused during the short time required for the work to be carried out.
