ac smells

when switching on the AC there is a sticking smell coming out of it

why is it there

i have a 2008 model car so i don't suppose it is the engine issues or is it

FYI the smell is a foul smell and not a burning one

Change the AC filter it will be fine, sometime filter change frequently is required if you are a smoker or have kids eating food a lot in car while AC is running, so smell keeps circulating and after sometime it becomes sticky.
