automatic gear

Hi, i own 406, 2003 model, i face issue with gear shifting, some times while driving car slows down and acceleration without moving and all computer signes pops. Once i stope shut off and restart it starts working/moving.

Can gear box be repaired or i must replace, taking into consideration that the cost of new gearbox is more then the car value.

Gear is always advisable to rebuild, that can be done in few thousand dhs depending on what all parts required for rebuild.

peugeot will not repair the gearbox. it is their policy to REPLACE parts, not fix them. so ur better off taking it to an outside agency for repair
