will repolishing of the car damage the car paint.

i have tried to polish my car myself using a polisher but somehow i have an uneven finish of it. Now if i get polishing again will the paint of the car be damaged.

re polishing will not damage anything if done by a professional as all they do is use wax to protect the car body.
