Battery in cold weather!

Hey all. I am really keen to know the role of the battery particularly in cold weather. Why do we need good battery in the cold weather?

offcourse. In winters, the cranking load on the battery is increased. The engine oil gets thicker in the engine and thus it takes more amps on a battery to start the engine. That's why it is really essential to have a good battery which should be reliable in the cold weather, otherwise everyday the driver will face difficulty in starting the car early morning.
