As I suspected (from reading the Jaguar forums), my problem was the starter unit. Jaguar Dubai could not find any fault as each time I brought the car in (it had to be towed away 3 times), it would start at the garage.I told them to keep investigating and they finally enrolled Jaguar UK' s help. Hence it took 3 weeks of diagnosis, emails forward and backward and eventually Jaguar UK confirmed it was the starter unit which needed replacing at a cost of 6,000dhs!. Now I have to wait for the part for 2 weeks and then it will take about two days for the repair. Fortunately I will be away on holidays so the inconvenience of not having a car will not so much of a problem although it has been for the last 3 weeks!
A lot of these automarket cars end up for export or to unsuspected expat buyers I think.Shame but people sometimes learn the hard way.
Which radio was this you heard the ad please ? Good time to buy a car during Ramadan but having spent so much money recently on the old lady (air suspension system, starter unit-26,000dhs), I think I will drive it a bit longer hopefully till next Ramadan offers!
