After the seat belt is locked for the driver and passenger why do i still get warning that seat belt needs to be worn?

Off lately my 525 boot is not upholding like it use to, need a bit of push to keep it open. I can see some shock absorber looking rods at the sides, if i replace those will it be fine? Or do i need any other additional rocket science configuration. Just thinking from my mind common sense, so please dont laugh if it was a stupid guess. Hope to see some good reply for my problem.
