Car wont click on switch one and wont crank while starting and wont start the car. Before doubting starter motor,doubt the starter motor relay in engine bay fuse box. Change that relay with anyother one in fuse box just for fun and see if it starts the car.

If it flashes ABS light while jerking it mean ABS modulator is malfunctioning. If no light it cud be gear downshifting jerks, the first way of telling you that gear need gear oil and filter change if still same then gear rebuild is required for sure. Still take mechanic opinion as they can actually feel the jerk than me (im reading only).

There cud be two things and both are quite different. If spark plug is due for change you can experience this type of issue or may be spark delivery was weak coz of weak igniton coil or faulty HT lead then also you may have this type of loss of power. Second and most dangerous doubt is engine head gasket is leaking and coolant is getting mix with engine oil result in such loss of power behavior along with excessive white smoke and coolant turns milky. See what you got, i hope its first one, Its less expensive (200 - 800) than the second one (4000 - 8000).

i have a eldorado and i am the first owner which i had purchased in April of 2008,last October i started noticing a spot on the hood that was obviously not a rock chip, then noticed more and more all over vehicle.from the front till the back. as it is not a very old model something like this was not expected what cud be the cause i dont knw if i shud go to the dealers as i dnt knw how much will they charge me please advice if i can get it locally thanks rgds
