  1. you pay peanuts you will get monkey only. go for bridgestone. they are the bestest tires i have ever had.
  2. May be but better, change the starter relay as its cheap then get computer check to find if its starter or CKPS (Crank Shaft position Sensor)
  3. Not all the time oil pressure light comes on means low engine oil. So first check engine oil level and if its fine, then first thing to doubt is Oil pressure sensor close to engine oil filter. Get that change as it cost only 40 aed. And then also if you see this light, Change the engine oil and filter with correct OEM specification of oil. And if still you see this light it cud be oil pump or some other internal engine part failure like piston ring, connecting rod bearing, crank bearing etc. But thats last point.
  4. Engine oil change is ideally related to kms. If you put mineral oil 20w50 its 3k kms, if you put semi synthetic oil 10w40 its 5k - 7k, If you put fully synthetic oil its 10k - 12k kms. Color is last indicator to consider, but not the first one to consider. I change per km not with color. why risk it, oil is very cheap in this country so change often is better.
  5. Number of km is an ideal indicator, but it depends on manufacturer to manufacture. As a best rule tire shud be changed in 3 -5 years depending on km they have done. On average it shud be between 40k - 60k. If its more than 60k and more than 4 years better to change, as you might not get passing done, if it isnt having enough tread left. Another indicator is tread too. See if all around tire has more than 5mm of tread left at least is fine, less than 5mm is risky.
  6. So sad to hear your long list of problems and cause of frustration. Al Ghandi should have changed the car at first place as it completely sound like a factory defected car. You should have sued them as you and your family could have been in serious life threatening trouble.
  7. 3-5 years or 40k -50k. But whenever in SLIGHTEST doubt, change it. Its better as its cheap not expensive fix but can save your engine from frying.
  8. Get the radiator flushed once so that all the corrosion can get out of system and then you can use coolant. Water is better than coolant in cooling quality but due to corrosive problem we use coolant.
  9. Interesting read, never heard of blue smoke. Good write up, thnx shabir
  10. If no problem, keep driving. I drove same same condition car once for more than 1 year.
  11. Check and clean indicator stick on steering wheel it might have sticky residual stuff. Just air clean it nicely and refix it. Do not put WD40.
  12. When leaking. Or in some case as schedule maintenance item in case of proactive owners.
  13. wires on the pass lock on the ignition tumbler are finished and will not make any contact. Its very know error on older caprice. You need new tumbler.
  14. put WD40 on throtle body, and rthrottle and crusie wire (cable) in engine bay area. Same happen with me, crusie cable was dry and stuck to cable cover and thats why cruise control switch on after 5 - 10 tries. After WD40 make sure u pull cable few times in off car and few time in car while running at idle rpm
  15. There are companies doing this job, its not DIY and its only required if car is atleast 5 - 10 years old or you are facing overheating heating coz of radiator blockage. So this process cleans up the rust and water deposit from radiator cores. if everything is fine, then dont bother.
  16. There must be something fishy these guys have done, and surely you shud go back and complaint. Electric faults are very hard to diagnose and fix. I hope you got job done from good experienced hand not road side jack of all trade. Make sure all wiring is done proper and nicely insulated as in some case after market system and DVD causes fire when people installing them isnt really educated about what they are doing.
