  1. Taking a jump to the fuel system is a big step. If there was an issue with the fuel system then your problems would be much more than just a push. Has your car stalled yet? or does it hesitate? Giving you problems starting? if you are certain about the fuel system causing problems you can troubleshoot the system with the fuel pump, filter and pressure regulator.
  2. Make sure your car is cooled down. Access battery terminal and detach the negative cable. Empty your coolant system below the radiator petcock. You need to place something under the cavalier in the area you will be working at. I usually use a wooden block and a cushion underneath it. Detach all the top component of the engine. Loosen engine hoses. Disconnect the electrical connections. When i did this the first time I forgot what goes where since there are various kinds of components and connections. Had to get someone to help me put it all back together. since you are doing this the first time, either note what goes where or label the stuff so that you don't forget. Anyways, back to business. loosen cylinder head bolts in reverse. You will access the head gasket after you remove the cylinder head. Take a torque wrench and tighten new bolts for the cylinder head after you have replaced the new head gasket and make sure you go back from where you came from all the way to the top.
  3. Hi Haroon, you might want to look into the rattling problem with a professional ... or maybe someone else might be able to help you here. As far as the bumper is concerned, I have gotten mine removed ample times especially I remember when I hit a curb .. i had it removed for denting and painting ... just ensure that it is bolted and screwed back on properly. Don't want your bumper to fall off. Pros do a good job at it.
  4. Oh and by the way when the car started were there any codes coming up ... any warnings ... any signals ? Although you might not get the solution to your problem but it could give you a hint.
  5. When my car did the same thing like you described (it would stall but then would work fine at times too) ... the mechanics could not find anything as a problem. Nothing with the battery, wires, spark plugs, valves, sensors, etc. As the last resort they reset the car's computer program ... lol yup that fixed the stalling !!
  6. hi carnity users, I have a 01 malibu It does not start easily. Obviously as a general practice I let the car get warmer till its ready to start but previously I didn't even used to wait that long and could easily turn it on. Now it makes weird noises when I attempt to turn the key and starts as if its starting with a push. It feels as if I am damaging my car when I am trying to turn it on. I don't understand this betrayal by my car since it never used to happen before. Can someone lead me to the right direction on how to get to the problem because I can think of ten things that can be the problem. PS. I had the battery checked and its absolutely fine! Gracias
  7. i jut got mt Chevrolet Spark tires changed which was about 3 days ago but felt a slight off balance when taking turns. did i miss out on something more that i was suppose to do?
