if engine oil looks low then it means that there is a leak. the oil should be emptied out and check the leak.

did you check the tire pressure? it can be that the spring have to be changed too. Do you have full load at the back all the time? -

with time the gears will get smoother. see if you feel any difference if not then check the gear oil level.
