  1. If you like to drive this regular for offroad use then you have to do two things: lift the car with spacer or better change to offroad suspension (3k AED). Second change to thick rubber tire (not low profile) which will give you better sand flotation while deflated. If you don't like to do this two offroad mod, then drive it very carefully with properly deflated tire to 12-15 psi and avoid hi speed bashing (climb up or down) that will damage the bumper lower lip.
  2. Hi There, COngrats on your new ride, its a beast in the desert accompanied by right tire and driver. If you new to desert my strong recommendation to venture out with someone who knows desert driving and fully equipped with desert gears. You are much better off to start learning desert driving in any of the offroad club in dubai. There are plenty of offroad club to join for free: emarat4x4, dubai desert club, arabian offroad, almost 4x4 etc.

  7. Hi Harman, Trading is for dubai and western is for abu dhabi. In Dubai or rather in whole UAE you will only find one dealer for any car. I guess in cars they don't like competition, unlike other places where you can take quote from 10 dealers before buy same car to evaluate best discounts and services offered.

  9. Hope the image below helps showing different types of uConnect available for New Grand Cherokee:
  10. Its not that difficult as each door have two hinges and 3/4 bolt on each hinge. You can pretty much do it yourself with right size wrench or spanner. Make sure you dont damage in removal or while storing, Replacement is gonna be expensive, so be careful.
  11. Looks into Garmin system. AMT trading Garmin main distributor in deira might able to help you with one. My friend got something for his boat last year, don't if its Garmin.
  12. Stay away from fake leather as it will sweat your back and ass off bad in this summer. Get the good quality washable soft fabric, easy, cheap, durable and comfy. My two cents.
  13. Good point, farook. I heard that new Pentastar engine for 2013 wrangler is far efficient than previous siblings. Few of my friends claiming it gives 7-8 km per liter in city and 9-10 km on highway, which is quite good as per 3.6 L engine size.
  14. If tranny is good, you can check the drive shaft for greasing and lubricating the U-joint as it might have dried in a month time in so intense heat.
  15. thanks but i am asking in particular car if you have any personal knowledge.
  16. Get it checked fully or read the eppco comprehensive report nicely for hidden problems. This is must for all auction cars, or else they would have been sold at normal price.
  17. IF GIVEN A CHOICE JEEP WRANGLER OR NISSAN PATROL. WHICH ONE WOULD BE BETTER OFFROADER?

  19. Answers to your questions: 1. Realistically what would be considered as past it for a Dubai jeep? Nothing really, i have seen 94 model jeep too. So actual catch will be answered in next question. 2. I know a 04/05 Pathfinder will probably go 750,000kms if looked after well enough...what about the Wrangler? Indeed if well looked after jeeps easily touches 200k - 300k on single engine. Make sure buy from someone who has not driven or rather abused in desert every week. As wrangler is good for offroad, so people tend to abuse it and sell it fast before it turns lemon. Buy low milage wrangler under or close to 100k with first 3 years maintained with dealer, even if you pay extra 10% over other models with no service history and clocking 200k its well worth. Trust me. 3. With a budget of 30,000aed what could i expect to get? This is very good time (peak summer) to buy Jeep, you will understand why after you make a buy. lololol. 4. Are there any common issues that i should be aware of? Get the axle and differential check THOROUGHLY as these both are the weakest point of any wrangler to my knowledge.

  21. jeeps are the best cars for the desert but worst for this weather.
  22. Actually seen big supplement in today's Gulf News didn't got time to view it fully. Any jeep specific stuff is coming this automechanika???
  23. JGC is definitely a good breed of car that if you have spare time can take her to the desert.
  24. You actually need a computer diagnostic to read which fault code is recorded when car jerks and show check engine light. Guesswork is not the best option always. If its injector issue then it will also blip on full throttle and sometimes on constant drive. It may be a fuel pump issue, but you better get it check first before blowing further money. You can take your Jeep to 4x4 motors or Robbies in al quoz area, they do the computer testing, i think for 300 dhs.
