  2. Jeep gearbox is one of the most weakest part. However in your case its not dying its just little upset with you . Change the gear oil and filter, more than likely it will help.
  3. It seems like head gasket issue, which is a serious and big job. I am not familiar with fujeirah mechanic area but i know in Ajman good mechanics are there opposite GMC hospital as soon as you enter Ajman from shj side.
  4. Your steering pump must have died or gone weak. Get it checked and changed if needed. No other thing to doubt.
  5. Is getting a second hand wrangler in this part of the world a good idea as i have seen most cars in the desert are wrangler so if i buy a second hand will it be damaged?
  6. When on incline and decline the engine just stops working. this is a major concern and want to know why is this happening? i Live in fuj so if u are advising to go to a mechanic pls. tell me where to go as i am new here
  7. In older vehicle to balance the rpm there is RPM sensor or optimizer ( i dont know the exact word). Its the same when u put on AC on idle it increases RPM by few hundred, and when u engage to D with AC on it drop the RPM to normal. Check the sensor, that might be the culprit. Regards to 4x4 in Cherokee is 2 wheel drive normally, and for engaging 4 wheel you need to push the lever down and move forward. Part time means H (high gear) for offroad drives. 4WD full time means (LO gear) for pulling, towing, recovery, steep climbs or heavy 4x4 applications.
  8. The steering is difficult to move so i was told to get the steering fluid changed which i did. Still i dont find the previous smoothness. What do i do now?
  9. Not more than 1 hour if car is cold. Price i think around 100 dhs (not sure though)
  10. Yes your jeep is too old. But to get the spare parts only. Regards insulation every jeep owner suffers with this issue, be it new or old. What i suggest is seek an upholstery guy and ask him to put some some foam in underroof, that will help surely. May cost 200 - 300 dhs in shj.
  11. Its always in demand in summer. Sorry my friend wrong time to find it cheap. Even in scrap in shj its price is above 2000. If i am not wrong around 3500 you can buy new one. Check some classifieds or leave an item wanted note, if you are lucky you will get it.

  13. I am desperate to locate the EVAP Canister in My 2004 Liberty Jeep. Appreciate the input at the earliest. Thanks
  14. The abnormally high idle speeds can be the vacuum leaks or an inoperative idle speed control motor. A vacuum leak on a fuel injected engine will cause high idle.
  15. Why is my Jeep 2000 having unusual high RPM when driving at the speed 40 the RPM goes up to 3500. please someone tell me what is wrong with my car.
  16. There is fresh air inlet to the valve cover that needs to be loosen. so now there wont be any vacuum in the valve cover left.
  17. Just slides over the hub but if it is likely corroded at the center hub area so spray some penetrating oil like WD-40 in the area and get a very heavy hammer and strike the edge and it will break loose.
  18. i HAVE TO REPLACE THE MANIFOLD GASKET OF THE CAR BUT THE MECHANIC IS NOT ABLE TO GIVE ME THE EXACT COST AND TIME FOR THE PROCEDURE AND NEED ADVISE ON THIS PLEASE
  19. the Oil Cap is literally vacuumed and i cant get it off. 2 of my friends tried it as well what should i do
  20. You can replace the gasket without dropping the engine but you may have problem that is removing and re-torquing the head bolts because of the lack of space behind the engine compartment.
  21. it is definitely the problem with the motor. it hardly half an hour job that u can get it done in any workshops. hope my answer helped
