  1. Which drive shaft are you talking about? front or back. Approx 500 or so, give a call to jeep spare parts guys in shj (Al Ahram: 06 5396988)
  2. Call bilal 06 5424257 at al thkr spare parts in shj. He makes very good pricing for all my jeeps parts.
  3. Sorry to break your heart but yes KMS can be reversed in any car and in type of speedometer. There are folks in Abu shagara used car market in shj doing this for 200 dhs.
  4. Bought one for Cherokee last year and costed around 500 after bit of haggling with afghani guy in scrap yard. Commander is slightly newer than cherokee so i would guess around 700 -1000 dhs.
  5. Brake cylinder cant be repaired here in UAE. Better to change it only, you can get new one from spare parts shop in shj who sell orginal parts at discounted rates than agency price. Call bilal 06 5424257 (Al thokr spare parts).
  6. Go to Khwaneej exhasut shop in Shj, they are too good. They are after troy university signal when you enter shj. Take second or third right after mercedes.
  7. Buying used head and rebuilt whole engine with minor tit bits like piston rings, seals, belts etc is better for long run. It might cost same to buy used engine, but again u dont know the past and how much life is remaining. So if you built something by yourself then you be rest assured that its solid for coming years. I have done same in past and have driven for 3+ year without any tension before i sold the car.
  8. Clean the air filter after every desert drive, you will feel major difference.
  9. As people want to get rid of their play toy when real summer strike, as in Dubai summer Jeep AC is far less effective than yaris (thanks to ZERO insulation on roof). Open roofs is horrible as you get bbq everyday, and if soft top converted back to hard top then wind gushing noise will make u crazy and you need loud music system.
  10. Drive to shj Industrial area 1 and 2, and run around and you will find scraps dealing in used parts. If want original one then you can visit al thokhr 06 5424257, they are also in same area around.
  11. New Fun Drive Section added to the forum. (fun-drives-f16/) Feel free to post any drive/meet as you like.
  12. Good idea, lets have one. I am all game.
  13. Thats very sad, hope you are doing fine. What i can probably guess would be really low pressure like in 20 - 25 psi and driving at 140kmph for constant an hour so would be enough to burst any tire. If tire was properly inflated, then it could be bad quality as Kumhos are korean (if i am not wrong) so cant expect japanese or US standard there. Lets see what trading enterprises build a story......!
  14. Buy at least 4.7 L or 5.7 L hemi, they are good and powerful as per vehicle weight. Stay away from 3.7 please. Second advise it has bit of plastic in approach and departure angle on bumper, so be ready to loose it some day in desert. Rest all they good and my friend had for 2 years with occasional use in sand including some serious off road in sweihan and Al wagan. They are good in desert, if you are little careful. Good luck and good choice any day over wrangler if space, comfort and number of people is priority
  15. Robbies motorsport is good in Dubai, but kind of expensive for older model Jeep's. You can find some good Jeep Garage in Rashidiya and Al Ghusais too (lesser expensive).

  17. 2 inch wont mess much, but still after lift hear the claking noise or any discomfort. If you feel it mess up slightly consider lowering the tranny box too with spacer, no big deal. For lift kit trust king springs and shock, they are awesome. I bought rought country and they are just ok, but one of my friend done King setup and its amazing.
  18. New JK hasnt changed much since 2009. Its still crappy, sorry no offense. Buy prior to 2007 and soup it up with headers, exhaust, filter then chip tunning and it will eat FJ like cakes.
  19. You can buy parts in 50% discount from shj BM road. And change it any near buy mechanics in shj industrial area. no sweat. Good luck with your ride, engine is all good. And hard top decision is much better.
  20. For tire u can buy michelin or yokohama from any eppco emarat. For AC gas filling there are plenty workshop in al quoz, al ghusais area that u just need to drive in and get it done.
  21. Take jeep to some jeep specialist like robbies or 4x4 garage and they can diagnose it better. Not starting issue always have three segment to catch. Electrical glitch, Fuel or fuel line glitch, air filter of AFM malfunctioning.
  22. new exhaust, changing the fuel filter, good engine oil and coolant and cleaning the fuel tank are good to start with.
  23. Do you know if the sensor is original or of a good quality. this happens when a tejari product is used.
  24. Dont worry about anything, it must be recently set wheels and those wax pasting must not be fully dried thats why tire popped. Or some strange coincidence in sharp turn or maneuver made it pop that would have been popped with 245 tire as well. Your increase in size is just 2 cm in width and nothing else, which is perfectly normal so you dont panic and you dont need new wheels. Dont drive offroad for one week so that wax can get fully dried and dont let this happen again and you will be fine.
