  1. Well guys did you see this KIA commercial, oh my god I dnt know about KIA cars, but this ad is cool. Does that say small family for KIA or KIA for small and happy family...cute
  2. you said it a car remains reliable only if you take good care of it, Kia is slightly off compare to Hyundai, besides in UAE people are more attached to Japanese Toyota brand, after European and Americans cars. That way KIA offers something for those who want the luxury by paying less. Well not a bad car after all
  3. I dont blame the service people. The real issue is with the rotors. They warp way too quickly - simply because they are under engineered and designed for that car. So long for the Sorento guys
  4. This is Sad!! I thought KIA would have fixed their brake issues on the Sorento by now. I sold my 2002 Sorento because of the multiple transmission and brake issues it had.
  5. hi guys, I want to know how the Uconnect system works on the new cherokee (eg. the quality and features) since I might get my hands on one soon and wanted to know if it is a compatible device with all the general mobile phones, etc? Is the bluetooth any good?
  6. panda - thanks for the advice will look into it. i just want smooth and silent braking which seems to be impossible now. Hope not though.
  7. i am not surprised to hear about this problem... The stock brakes are simply under-designed for that car, and it sounds like Kia has not solved the 'real' problem yet.
  8. Hi there. My advice would be to simply get a pair of dimpled and slotted brake rotors for your Sorento. I put them on my 08 Sorento and they have been going ever since.
  9. hey folks! i have a 2010 Sorento with around 35000 miles on it. there is a grinding noise when i brake at lower speeds but there is also another problem. towards the end of my 25 minute drive to work there is a clicking noise and if i continue to drive it gets worse. initially i was told it was the rotors so it went in for that and they put in new brake pads too. the noise went away for like a week but now its back again and i am being told that it is the rotors again!!!! i am not at all an aggressive driver and mostly have my children with me as well so i really do not know what is going on. the noise starts after i have braked a couple of times and then accelerate again. please help!
  10. Hello Jeep fanatics, I am planning to have a tracking system incorporated in my jeep - I am not a tech-person at all and don't know if these things work well in a car or not ... can someone tell me if its good to go ahead with something like that ? Does it involve a lot of wiring or handling with the technical side of the car? What should I expect from the tracking system company? Also would someone have an estimate on the cost I would be facing? Thanks
  11. How much will it cost me to replace a valve (proportioning) on a 2003 Kia Spectra? I have not visited the dealer yet, but need to gather some info before i take my wife's car to them.
  12. This is my second KIA and frankly I am impressed with the car and the engine, the transmission etc. For all these year that i drove my old 2004 Kia Optima, i never faced any problem and clocked nearly 180,000 miles on it. Needless to say i hardly did any maintenance on the vehicle and it was good until i sold it. I remember replacing the fuel pump. So I say go for it and you will nt regret.
  13. How do you rate for maintenance & reliability, I would like to go for mid-size sedan, and thought Kia could be a good option. I heard they improved a lot in recent times. can somebody help me know with their experience, like after how many Km does the car need to go for a screening service, what abt maintenance expense?
  14. thanks for the feedback guys, taking leo's advice into consideration i test drove the 2010 model and don't seem quite satisfied with it, i am thinking of changing my choice to another brand altogether appreciate everyone's insights.
  15. Thanks blackman - i plan to test drive the sportage around today. I was thinking of going ahead with the decision of buying a sportage qashqai was great but feel i deserve a little change as well! Will come back with my review!
  16. great...i was thinking my 2000 model cherokke is too old, but here i see my friends have much better vehicle of 94-95, but let me tell you, as far cherokke is concerned its never old..
  17. My Jeep Grand Cherokee is a 2000 model started having this weird habit of 6-beep tone when I try to start it. Any idea why it is so? Please don't tell me its bcoz the vehicle is too old. Upon close inspection i felt the sound comes from somewhere near the steering column. pls suggest what this could be. Gud night
  18. Firefly its a good thing you a sticking to a small-sized vehicle. I remember my first car was a small one too and getting perfect at driving helped me a lot! Once you are all geared up ... upgrading wouldn't be a problem for you. Cheers
  19. The qashqai has been the best seller in the market for a long time but kia outdid nissan this time and produced a solid latest sportage. I definitely think its better than nissan's qashqai and the price just adds to the advantages of buying a sportage. The price difference is almost 10 000 dirhams if im not wrong. If you haven't been behind the wheels in a sportage 2013 then go ahead and try it out because i think you'll find it better than the qashqai.
  20. H firefly, For starters i think you should go with the 2010 model since it is the best among all of them ... the latest ones don't have such positive reviews. Yes it is an easy ride so it suits new drivers perfectly well. Well ... this vehicle is one of the cheapest cars around, you have the option of buying used cars but rather from a more reliable manufacturer like toyota or honda ... OR you can also buy the volkswagen jetta ... i think the jetta is actually priced lesser than the soul wagon!
  21. Guys, being a newbie driver and having just got my license I was thinking of which car to buy, I find the kia soul wagon a very suitable car for ladies and its weird exteriors appeal to me Firstly, should i get the latest 2013 or can also settle with the older models? Are there any huge differences in them? Secondly, are there other better cars available in the market for the same price or not? Please know that being a female with having no car-expertise I am very naive towards how to judge a vehicle. Can someone lead me into the right direction?
  22. Hie there, My Nissan qashqai was was totaled a few months ago ... now im finding a better alternative within the same price range and though kia sportage fits the description just fine, I am doubled minded if whether i should buy another brand or stick to Nissan. I was very happy with my qashqai but now that I will be buying another vehicle, I was fishing around the market to see if there is a better one. Would a sportage owner be kind enough to give me some feedback on the car? Thanks in advance.
  23. This problem is easy as pie. Im going to make it easy before anybody think its complicated. My hood release cable broke, and guess what?...the service station price a heaven to change it. The part comes as a whole known as Dorman Hood Release as an assembly and is called Cable Part #912-006 and about 10 min to replace. All that you need is a new cable assembly, 2 buddies (not necessary, but will help you with to complete the installation, Torx T30 handle, A screwdriver, Deepwell socket set, Wire-Cutters and above all patience. Follow the broken cable under the hood and rest as you proceed you will get the other end to latch it on one side of the hood. As I said it needs bit of patience, so if you want to save some extra bucks, try this out.
  24. This is a great piece of info, my Uncle drives a cherokke and he often hits the desert safari event, though we never experienced this fault code, but since you have mention cheroke 99 model do let me know if this is applicable for the recent ones 2011 model
  25. Its really an interesting story how design is so important as compare to other factors of cars. Chris Bangle is similarly responsible for transforming the BMW image especially with X5 design, that has rocked the market like a storm though accompanied with crappy reliability issues.
