Keeping an old Jeep alive
GrandDubai replied to Old Banger's topic in Jeep General Discussion Forum in UAE
I'd also be pleased to find out about the parts place on BMW road. My brother has a 2001 Grand Cherokee and I have a 2005 Grand Cherokee. There is always something breaking so a good parts supplier would be great. -
I bought a US import Grand Cherokee and the dealer has all the parts and services it exactly the same as a GCC car. Never had any problems. The only difference is that the radio won't tune into most Dubai stations, so you would need to replace it.

Hi, you might try changing the PCV valve too - if your mileage is over 90,000 km. this is the service time for them. If the PCV is blocked, pressure builds up in the crank case and can force oil down the valves, causing a plug to foul. You will only feel it when in traffic at idle or slow speed. The other thing to check is the TPS (throttle position sensor) as this can go bad. It sends signals all over the engine and also tells the transmission what's going on. If you don't have any specific codes, these might be worth checking out. Both are cheap parts too! Good luck!

My New 2005 Grand Cherokee 4.7
GrandDubai replied to GrandDubai's topic in Jeep General Discussion Forum in UAE
Hi Saad, Fuel consumption isn't toooooo bad. I get 13.5l / 100km when I'm driving to Abu Dhabi, but it is about 20l/100km when I'm in heavy traffic. Just sent the car to the shop to get a broken exhaust manifold fixed, so hopefully the figures will improve a bit!! :-s -

Hi, new to this forum as I only recently bought my new toy. Its got a few jobs needed, which is half the fun, but still looks good. Hoping to make a few subtle mods to it over time - nothing extreme as it is my daily car. All suggestions welcome! Cheers, Stuart

Jeep Parts from Dubai
GrandDubai replied to vinodpanakool's topic in Jeep General Discussion Forum in UAE
Hi, new to this forum as I only reently bought my new toy. Its got a few jobs needed, which is half the fun, but I need to ask you guys for some help. Can anybody recommend a good upholstery repair shop in Dubai please? I have a rip in my seat that needs to be repaired. Also, because it is a US spec car, the radio won't pick up any Dubai stations!!!! Any suggestions on where I can find a replacement? I want to keep the dash stock, or I'd upgrade the head unit. Many thanks for any advice you can offer! Cheers, Stuart 2005 Grand Cherokee 4.7 Limited. US import Wife has a 2007 Cherokee 3.7
