  1. Also check the drive shaft cross, may be they are dry as hell and making these clak clak noise whenever driveshaft turns in other direction. Its quite normal, just get them grease at enoc eppco and this noise will go.
  2. Looks like someone by name of Awad, contacted me for sale by mistake. Please contact him on [email protected] if you still have this car for sale.
  3. What Jee, mean to say is if its coolant or engine oil then you can see what is leaking and then trace from where its leaking just by visual look in and around engine bay. If its something else then it require mechanic to go under the car and see if any of the differential is leaking or 4x4 or gear oil is leaking. All these item require special tools (spanner) to open the nut and check their levels.
  4. Super clean car as per age. Really a rare find being vogue and in pristine condition. Good luck with the sale.
  5. AAA and A2B in Dubai and Gulf Star in Sharjah are pretty good after the dealer workshop.
  6. Gas, ask mechanic the cause of distributor failing. If its age or desert trip/unclean atmospher then its fine, otherwise pay close attn that why it failed as these car distributors are pretty hard to fail. What i am doubting is, it shudnt have some other spark plug or plug lead failure failed the distributor due to constant uneven current supply etc.
  7. Amazing ride, with amazing price as per such a classic model. 1958 wwwwwoooooooooaaaaaahhhhhhh.
  8. Thats a very good price you are getting, is it V8? Manual is better, leave it that way.
  9. First things first: Coolant level, is the most URGENT AND IMPORTANT part that one shud never ignore or prolong. For coolant level check, there is always two way check that you need to do. Once in the morning when car is cold, check the level at bottle, then start the car and wait for 5 - 10 mins when car reaches optimum temperature. The level should stay same without any noticeable difference. If there is any difference in level then wait until it cool down and then add coolant, litle bit extra, so that it can overflow and reach to ideal level when car is at ideal temp. Checking for other leaks in line to transmission cooler or radiator is good practice, so that it doesn't loose coolant over period of days. Get those leaks fixed asap and keep monitoring the coolant bottle level as a regular safety check. Washing in the engine, is best done with steam not with water. Or even better is with diesel spray, but you should have time to let it dry completely otherwise diesel wash will be like dust magnet. With any engine bay wash, one should cover alternator, fuse box, and ECU side completely with plastic and avoid splashing water around it. Airbag light is known error in almost all LR, that yellow socket under driver seat need to be properly secure with tape or cable tie or else with every extreme full front or full back move you will have this light. Another important thing for you to remember as a new Landie owner. If you see "Gearbox faulty" then dont panic its an indication of weak battery, as electronic gear oil need regular volt from battery and slight disturbance in volt supply show this message. If its a high mileage car you got, better check all fluids condition or even better to change all diff fluids, coolant, brake oil once right now so that you can monitor there life and kms driven. All fluid change might cost you around 500 - 1000 dhs but it will save lot of future confusion and chances of failure. Also remember to go for semi synthetic engine oil or normal mineral oil and change at 5k - 3k period than fully synthetic, because in fully synthetic you might end up in oil leaks and spoiling your parking bay. In landies all oil seals are very prone to leak and less forgiving than toyota and nissan, so thinner the oil easier it will leak. Good luck with new ride and have fun with it and welcome to the Land Rover owners club.....!
  10. Hi Doc, we stopped seeing your wonderful helping posts since long. Seems your keeping too busy...!
  11. Al beaa joseph have lot of experience in LR vehicle, especially in big mods for big ruling families LR made for adventure and hunting sports. Though he is little pricey per shj standard, so just negotiate well and may be use this forum name or Khalid reference and see if he remember or respect regular business.
  12. I knw lot have been said, just out of curiosity have a closer look in engine bay, near exhaust manifold. No wiring loom shud touch those hot hot manifold. My friend had weirdo issue of AC and interior lights getting cut off on r/a and later figure out that wiring loom was half burnt as it was touching the manifold on round about.
  13. Thats not page they are talking, they are talking about the group, where many members of this forum joined and came back already.
  14. Any discounts possible knowing you or being member of LR group?
  15. Hi Doc, long time no see. Whats up with bling, you own it or know a friend there? Richard name will get stuff any cheaper?
  16. TomB, AAA is good and one stop shop for all Landies need, but i am sure not many can afford them.
  17. Universal joint also known as cross, is very cheap to fix. Its not at all expensive item, should be less than 100 - 200 dhs. Installation is also fairly simple and cheap, but bigger question is why it has been removed, whats the bigger issue getting hidden behind this??? (IF ANY) Some big issues cud be: 4x4 is bad, drive shaft is bad, front differential is bad... Go sniff around, before buying.
  18. Before you go so far, there is a yellow cable under driver seat. Shake that socket and wire a bit and restart the car to see if ABS goes away, its a very famous and old fix for almost all Landies. Shake the ABS wire and socket a bit.
  19. You can do the head gasket test by checking the pressure in all cylinders. You can buy pressure test kit for less than 100 dhs from Alico in shj. Test all cylinders one by one and see if pressure varies by more than 20 psi in anyone then it could be head gasket is leaking. Usual pressure should between 100 - 125 PSI depending on overall condition of engine and previous care taking.
  20. I guess AAA is best in dubai after Tayer. And Gulf Star in Sharjah. For dewarist answer: Maint cost is minimal if vehicle comes with FSH as TomB pointed. Otherwise you will be paying for previous owner usage too.
  21. Its a great car, with slighty pricey tag but still its worth it as it has fsh with dealer.
