  8. So now you know for sure that fully inflated tires are the actual root cause of the struggle and stressing the car unnecessarily in Low gear. The ideal mountain deflation is 20 - 25 PSI. In general, 25 PSI is perfect for loose gravel and 20 PSI when that loose gravel turn to fine gravel and slips your tires on every turn. A slightly more deflated tire will hold the traction better in those instances. However, if you go below 20 PSI then you risk getting tire cut with sharp rocks or angle, so always start with 25 PSI in HLC and work your way up in the mountain. In steeper climbs, when you feel that pressing too much throttle is not resulting in the same speed, then you can switch to LO gear for that struggling patch or incline and go back to HLC once done. Also, LO gear is very good for coming downhill as Gaurav Soni mentioned, that takes a lot of load from your brakes and does not eat the brake pad after one descent. The only catch is to keep your speed lower than 40 kmph in Low gear and you will be fine.
  9. Hi @Dev_ welcome to the carnity off-road club. As you've moved into the RSVP list from Waitlist, I look forward to seeing you tomorrow. As it's your first time here, can you Please share your vehicle details - Make, Model, Color, and Year. Do you have any prior off-road experience? If yes, pls share details. Confirm your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks/eyelets. Advise if you don’t have a programable radio and safety flag. MUST WATCH: NEWBIE VIDEO BRIEFING
  10. Hi Sultan, we do not refer any specific car businesses here to deter spam. You can find car businesses here: https://carnity.com/business_listing/ or google them. That's very strange. Pajero is Japanese and very similar to any other Nissan and Toyota. If you have BMW, Land Rover or Porsche then the above statement might justify in some cases, but not for Mitsubishi. I have had extensive experience in swapping and rebuilding the Pajero engines, happy to help with your specific questions and reasons to swap (most imp).
  11. Nobody is god here, we just know a little bit more than others based on our failures and experiences. And we still learning from actual Gods of off-roading on what works and what doesn't. Remember liwa extreme recovery last year that tested everything we know and so many things we don't know? Thankfully we were blessed with amazing teamwork, that graced the whole experience.
  12. Still, it's not advisable. While changing my radiator mechanical fan to an electric fan for a bigger radiator, I had a detailed discussion with few US experts. All said the same for stock (non-racing cars) thermostat is essential. For professional racing cars, they do remove the thermostat as the engine is managed by another more advanced controller which controls the engine jacket temperature based on several data points and open/close valves for optimum performance. But still, coolant gets separated and locked in the radiator for effective cooling, and coolant does get locked in the engine jacket for maximum heat absorption. The bottom line is the coolant that is free-flowing neither gets properly cooled nor absorbs the maximum heat of the engine.
  13. Just to clarify, I totally agree with the above comment to use 4L on super steep climbs while keeping speed under 30-40 kmph max. Once done with the challenging steep climb, you should switch back to 4HLC for the rest of the mountain. 4L is your trump card and you should only use it when it's really needed. With an extended period of driving on 4L on sand or on the mountain, you will damage your transfer case soon.
  14. I have no clue either. I said what I said as I myself doing Solar Park after a long gap of 6 months, so I genuinely don't know the latest terrain. Based on grassland or pristine sand, which sets my mood will see how it goes.
  15. Hi @Ben Williams it all depends on the convoy response, terrain, and my mood to end at starting point or head towards the other side of the solar park or qudra lakes. However, it won't be far from the starting point (max 5-10km away), so you can always drop your friend back at the starting point.

  20. Pearl white, anyday, personal choice though. Titanium grey is not bad either, look for ministers say as well to have all round happiness on board.
  21. You are surely a wise guy, my friend. I had a similar conversation with my brother who wasn't understanding my language either.
  22. Glad to read that you are quite clear with your off-road expectation, as many times people buy cars based on marketing brochure sand splashing images and then cry on the first off-road drive. Prado, LC, GX all three are amazing for 90% on-road and 10% off-road usage with bbq, camping level or newbie-level drives without any mods or tinkering with OEM reliability. I used to think the same that Toyota electronic suspension is bomb-proof unlike Land Rover but in the recent past I have seen on two different occasions, that GX fails to rise on off-road settings, so you do need thorough research, reading recalls/TSB if you plan to go that route.
  23. Nice job, looks like all settled down after the 1K test. How about the front diff, have u found a way to lower it too? As in my Gen 2.5, if I lift more than 2 inches, my CV starts giving up.
  24. I have written a similar one for finding the CID office (somewhere in ghusais) for getting permission for full color repaint back in 2017. But yours is a fantastic write-up with much more and newer details with updated contact, well done.
  25. I know it sounds funny to change car buying ideas, but that's the number 1 reason to end up buying the wrong car or making a wrong choice in the end out of haste. Spend a day or two, to firm up yourself with what you really want + budget. Then hunt a specific car within that budget so you can "fairly" compare apples to apples and close a deal fast. Car buying is an emotional exercise so less emotions you add to the equation, the faster your logical brain can process.
