  3. So it's time to fix it properly now with atleast 3 bolt support. Thank God, everyone was lucky yesterday as tow point failure are the biggest FEAR for offroaders and that's why Richard has gone extra mile to secure it properly.
  4. Yes, that's the same guy I was referring to. @DANIEL NOGUEIRA are you really sure that, that's the same place where other RAM has a tow hook installed? This look like lightly welded for bumper support etc. and not MIG welded to be used for tow hook. Generally tow hooks should be with 3 bolts and directly bolted on chassis channel or on cross member.
  5. If you bumped that plastic part after 5-6 drives then ask yourself if this was a one-off accident of you bumping or missing some brake in time. This can and will happen to all of us and you shouldn't be thinking of changing the whole bumper because of this case (only). Get that plastic bit sorted and add 6mm - 8mm bash plate underneath as you already have a metal bumper and good clearance. The more customized stuff you get in this scenario will simply increase the weight on the nose of the car and will restrict your long hill climb in future fewbie and intermediate drives, my two cents. Customized or full metal bumper like Warn and TJM brand will add at least 40-50 kg weight in front. Maybe you can check with other Ford F150 users if they have done something for the bumper. @Francois Germishuys @Jack Thomas @Malachy McGrogan @Melenany
  6. I think they were not stock tow hook, as they are usually front facing in Ram than the one I have seen yesterday - down facing. @DANIEL NOGUEIRA have you installed these hooks or it came stock with your Dodge Ram? Is your Ram, GCC specs? Or any such trim that has sport option, as recently I encountered in one of the drive Dodge Durango with a sport bumper of 6 inch clearance and no front tow hooks.

  8. 4.0 never made in GCC in those years. 4.2 is diesel 4.5 with V6 with 4500 sticker at back I meant underpowered with 210 or 212 hp. 4.7 with V8 had 246 hp if I rem correctly. Nothing big of a difference, and both arent a long hill climber, but both are perfect for your family leisure drives.
  9. Added @AlexPol and @Jack Thomas to this drive, please confirm. @Salarios you are next and only 1 in waitlist now.

  14. Hi @Adhir Saxena welcome to Carnity and its offroad club. As we don't have any absolute newbie drive in upcoming weekend so we have reserved two spots in both newbie drives for first timer with Carnity. You have been added to this drive and I look forward to seeing you. As a first timer with Carnity, please go through this drive topic fully and also watch the Absolute Newbie Briefing. P.S. This is one time preference for absolute newbie as you have joined mid-week. P.S.2 Kindly join the Carnity Drive Notification group for getting the drive notification for future drives, please.
  15. If its well maintained and not abused 300K for 20 years old is completely fine. In my old company we have used similar cruiser for 500K mark and still run like a champ as they were regularly serviced and maintained with proper schedule maintenance. I would vote for LC100 VXR - GCC specs anyday than LX, first its less complicated and electronics to fail, second US spec might have some strange surprise in summer months.
  16. Thanks @siddharth maheshwari for informing, I have removed you from the drive. Thanks @Athula Dharmadada for confirming that your car is ready, I have added you to the drive.

  18. Hi @AlexPol its a fewbie plus drive, means fewbie ranked offroaders who have done atleast 5 Fewbie drives with Carnity, can only join. @Mukundan Nair I have added you to the drive, due to 1 drop out. Please confirm. Any update on your car, yet?
  19. If you get it clean and low mileage, they are very good and reliable. V8 is slightly more expensive on maintenance than V6, but worth extra power as LC100 is very underpowered for long hill climbs. But if your intend is family camping and leisure drives, it will be perfect. Reliability, 4x4 technology, suited for hot climate, safety features are all awesome. Just make sure you read this comprehensive advise and follow as much as you can.
  20. Really, what a contrast from Kaiju to Sushimobile.........! Ya rayal @Ahab Shamaa, enough said. Let's show the bower of real Kaiju.
  21. How much was this oil? And also looking forward to hear from you about your redline engine oil experience.
  22. Looks like some folks here wish to see US vs Jap Iftar bowl action........! @Ahab Shamaa VS @DANIEL NOGUEIRA FJC (141 hp/ton) VS Dodge Ram (143 hp/ton) pretty close numbers. It will be good fun to watch them climbing Iftar bowl from left, right and center (in same order). I will sit with Miki and share his pop corn.
  23. Climbing Faya from front with so many cross track is not easy and not many stock can do that incl. Xterra, Wranglers and FJC. And those who make it up again some day they make it and others they cant, due to sheer difficulty, angle and height Such long hill climb, do need serious power mod or change or car or change of attitude as @Srikumar trying to point in last line. One less dune is better than 10-20K AED mods + RTA violations + every week mechanic visits + lack of reliability + low resale vale. Once you are completely done with your Pajero, buy another desert toy having good power to weight ratio which is above 120 hp/ton and you will be enjoying lot more.
