  1. 95 to 98 has a difference in fuel mileage and in performance too, but very minuscule. If you test the same car with 91 and then with 98, you will feel the difference is noticeable. MYTH FACT, but its hardly noticeable difference to the driver. It is even written on your car fuel cap if you are lazy to dig the manual. Best is to stick to what is written as OEM advice, always.
  2. You are damn right @Javier M he is our little rocket in the pocket hero. Among all the newbies we have trained, he has picked up so fast and demonstrated same with great confidence and helped others to grow faster. I was impressed from his driving when he was my second lead in Iftar bowl area, and I went in the nasty bowl and got little late to inform Fred to not to come. To my surprise he did exactly same what I did to get in and get out of that nasty spot in fraction of a second by keeping right at my tail in such a tight spot. You rarely see such quick presence of mind and adaptation in newbies.
  3. 😋 From where you start and where you end is whole different level of Desert Edition or LC Extreme stuff. They are MADE FOR desert. Period. And that's why Nissan only made 200 of these desert edition in Dubai. Btw, you should really see what Rav4 doing with us on big rolling dunes. I hope you get this as an offroader.
  4. Clue: It's not about drive, incident and any specific situation. It's about a driver (offroader). I'm really surprise how seniors are still unable to guess this driver........!
  5. From which angle this Nissan Patrol Y62 seems stock to you with metal bumpers, crazy approach and departure angles, big profile tires and whats not under the hood to keep a pace in life and death matter for Police duties. That's how you need to sell 1.8 million dirham V12 beast. For your test Cayenne, it must be fully tuned for you to push like that. I had Cayenne Turbo for 2 years and tried offroad 4 times and it never hit the required RPM band nor turbo kicked in right time. I have never seen any other Cayenne too in the desert in last 13 years of offroading in UAE. What companies market and what they sell are two different stuff.
  6. Nope, and all the guesses should be for offroad drivers as a whole instead of based on one or two drives.
  7. Guess the offroad driver: Rocket in the pocket
  8. Here comes the Supra recording the Bugatti Chiron - the fastest car in the world. I completely get it now.
  9. Are you planning this swap in UAE....?
  10. And to support this further, we have not seen those 4 Nissan Patrol Y62 again after there first offroad drive. If bumper is trimmed like in Adel case, they are good for newbie - fewbie level drive and not beyond that.
  11. Extract from Top Gear: Top Gear can exclusively reveal that Bugatti has smashed through the 300mph barrier. On 2 August 2019, Andy Wallace hit a vmax of 304.77mph in a modified Chiron at Ehra-Lessien, becoming the first hypercar to break 300mph. The velocity is verified by the TÜV – Germany’s Technical Inspection Association – meaning Andy and the prototype Chiron supersede previous really, really fast runs from: SSC (256.18mph two-way average, 2007), Hennessey (270.49mph two-way average, 2013) and Koenigsegg (284.55 vmax, 277.87 two-way average, 2017) As well as punching through the mythical 300mph target. Now I'm waiting with popcorn and a drink to watch, hear and read naysayers stories, versions and/or truth. I seriously just heard on whatsapp that world's fastest car is Supra and not Bugatti Chiron, I hope its a joke.
  12. The Fastest car in the world name has been assigned to Bugatti Chiron. For achieving new speed record to reach 304.77 MPH (490.48 KPH) on 2nd Aug 2019. Long live the world's fastest car. WELL DONE. fastest car in the world.mp4
  13. You took this in totally wrong angle - in all aspects. You doing train track 3 million times a day or we doing sandbox has no correlation with Patrol Y62 - Is no longer made for offroading. PERIOD. If you want to compare proper 4x4 then compete Y62 with FJC, Xterra and Wrangler than present day Pajero, which is another imposter of 4x4 for mall cruising or 7 seater audience. Electronics failing to engage 4x4 when needed - THE MOST - is nothing to do with driver or offroaders, its a reliability issue and should be addressed by Nissan Japan, similar to cruise control failing at highway or exploding airbags. What I actually meant by my 3 questions: Your era of capable offroading 4x4 is LONG GONE AND DUSTED. Rem old sheikh video use to drive Merc sedan in sand, can you try that now with modern merc....? NO. Today most 4x4 is purely aim to 7 seater rat race but they still keep LO gear and diff lock to make buyers happy. In 2019, we have seen 4 Nissan Patrol Y62 coughing up on the first "newbie drive" in Maliha and not on Faya. Last but not least even for a moment if we admit Y62 is greatest offroader of this century. Still there is no fun doing offroading in something that is a ticking bomb and driver heart is sinking at every dune to not to break the bumper, fail electronics and expensive repair bill after the first drive.
  14. You can always join with anyone of us buddy, that's also different experience.
  15. Before commenting on this @desertdude please answer: How many times you have been to offroad in last 10 years? How many times you have seen stock Nissan Patrol Y62 for dune bashing? How many times you have driven Nissan Patrol Y62 for dune bashing? Bumper is only the first turn off and one of the major road block to take this beast offroad. Second is the tire profile and size, not meant for offroad from any angle. Third is ton of electric sensors that fails intermittently. In one of the last drive @Adel Muradov Y62 Nissan Patrol got bogged in a small ditch, could have cleared by its own, but unable to crawl out. After several tries, we winch him out and realized that it's 4x4 light was blinking and it has switch to 2 wheel mode when he wanted to switch to LO gear from High Gear. After coming out, after few meters drive it engaged back to 4x4 and he was fine. Even while I was winching Asif was on drivers seat and kept of giving gas to assist the winching process and rear wheels were spinning but front were not moving at all. Engine, HorsePower, Gear and everything is good, just that its no longer bullt for such offroad use anymore. That's why Nissan brought back Patrol Safari Y61, as its been tested and proven for UAE offroad scene.
  16. Here another interesting story for LC300 engine spec sheet from Forbes. Seems like having a fate of Range Rover (2016) and after few years of feedback, will go back to bigger V8 (2018). Expected to be called the Land Cruiser ‘300,’ the all-new 10th generation vehicle will employ the model’s first-ever turbo hybrid setup. The current 4.6-liter V8 will be downsized to a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo hybrid combination that will reportedly generate around 350 hp and 361 lb-ft of torque. https://www.forbes.com/sites/peterlyon/2019/08/31/the-indestructible-toyota-land-cruiser-to-get-turbo-hybrid-for-first-time/amp/
  17. Congrats on the desert toy, that's the right way to enjoy best of both the world. Well done.
  18. Any solid reasoning for breaking rear differential....? Or just a regular offroad use is enough to break?
  19. No need, CGI is blessing these days.
  20. With 3km tall bumper it may sneeze on speed bumps, let alone the sand - Mr. King of Desert. I'm waiting for commercial to show splashing sand and jumping dunes with this all new Nissan Patrol 2020*. *With CGI (of course)
  21. Very nice review and very useful for tons of offroader including myself who has been looking, trying and hoping to find one good offroad gps to beat motion x. I love motion x but im still using old iphone 6 and wanted to try android gps on my note due to bigger screen. I will try this and share my review, soon. Btw, Motionx is not free either, Its 7.29 AED to install and 17 AED for custom maps. I believe this 17 is for lifetime as I vaguely remember paying them once and after that I haven't paid them again. Anyone having iPhone, must use Motion X it's worth its price in GOLD.
  22. Very weird then, have you researched on specific wrangler model or diff model to have this known issue....? As diff usually doesn't fail that often and so soon, what's the odometer reading on ur wrangler?
  23. Sad to hear that about your rear differential. Usually rear differential teeth chips under excessive heat or stress. Oil is usually a first thing to doubt, second is the stress. Have you been using the hand brake system for recovery but aggressively? - Main cause for diff failure Have you been doing burn outs that end with sudden braking? Have you been using the required spec diff oil?
