Just arrived in Abu Dhabi; looking for a LR3 2006/2007/2008. preferably with roof rack and any other accessories.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. As well as the RHD issue, I have now also heard that any vehilce to be imported must be less than 5 years old. Does anyone know if this is true? My Defender is a bit older - a 1995 model so 18 years old!

Hi, I am looking for advice on importing a Land Rover Defender. You might wonder why, but the reason is that it is an expedition equipped vehicle with all the fittings eg water tank, roof tent, winch, raised suspension etc etc and I want to use it for expeditions, camping weekends etc in UAE and Oman. I am coming to Abu Dhabi at the end of the year. Does anyone have any advice on importing it? It is a 1995 300Tdi, but in good condition (see attached photo). Regards, Carew

Hello all Land Rover enthusiasts! I am coming out to work in Abu Dhabi and am a very keen Land Rover owner; I have owned just about every type at some stage. Currently have an expedition equipped Defender 110 300Tdi, a Discovery 3 (LR3) and my wife's Freelander 1. I am an overland travel enthusiast, with many trips in southern Africa and Morocco. Looking forward to getting out into the desert, exploring and camping. Any advice welcome on clubs, routes, places...
