  1. Dear Sand Sailors Thanks for RSVPing for the drive. Hope you all are keeping safe from rising COVID cases as well as rising temp. I have been travelling and missed the last weekend on sand, so i am really looking forward to Sunday and to be back in desert. Action plan - plan for the drive is very simple. We meet next to Spicy village (will share the location soon) at 5am and with the first ray of sun we will enter the desert next to the cycle track. And then it will be all fast paced fun in the hot and soft dunes of Qudra - with lots of side slopes, criss-crossing and above all learn something new about our vehicles as well as our own capabilities as off-roaders, as we explore this nice area with possibility to enjoy some wildlife. We will be joined by master of self recoveries and hater of ropes, @JeromeFJ it's going to be a sweaty day at work..😂🥵 so be ready with your shovels. Important note - it's really getting hot and that means desert will behave very diff from what we have experienced over last 6-7 months - it will be soft and it will be hot. So please ensure you are well hydrated, have had good rest and have all your gear ready with you. Plus with rising COVID cases we will be following strict compliance to below 1) Wear a mask during the briefing, inflation, deflation and recovery. 2) Maintain a social distance of a minimum of 2 meters at all times. 3) Do not share any recovery or off-road gears. 4) Do not share any eatables during the drive. We look forward to your cooperation to keep everyone safe during carnity off-road drives. Will be sharing the convoy ordering and other details by Saturday Looking forward to see you all. In case of any change of your plans please advice well in advance. @Sam K @Jonny90 @Beide Worku @Joseph Raju @george charbel @RiaanJH @Imran Kashif @Shahid Mehmood @Dinesh Kumar A

  4. WOW...good to see so many fans of tech terrain... Hv an awesome drive all, nice plan @Gaurav Soni all the best for the third drive of the series..👍👍
  5. Dear Sand Sailors. Thanks for joining up for drive. Was a beautiful outing on sand - awesome terrain, not so hot weather and an amazing convoy. It truly fulfilled my Need for Speed..😂 Starting off at 5:30am the convoy Zig zagged through the beautiful bowls of Sweihan to cover a distance of 57km in 3.5 hours at an exhilarating moving speed of 25kmph, ending spot on at 9:00am as planned. The fact that not even once we had to use the ropes is true testament of how well the whole convoy managed the challenges. Refusals were nicely reattempted to success and stucks were nicely self recovered with minimal use of shovels. Ofcourse the credit for this also goes to an awesome support team @Zed @Ashok chaturvedi and the master himself @Srikumar Thanks all for your support. @takeshi sobue - Takeshi San, a perfect first FB drive with only some minor refusals, which eventually were well handled during reattempt. Very well done 👍 Just try to be a bit more responsive on radio. It's surely not easy especially while mind is busy maneuvering the vehicle - key is just take things easy and if need be stop, communicate and start again.. 👍 @Indra Ozola your past driving experience and 700hp of power under that hood was very much clear through the drive. There wasn't any challenge that challanged your Ram today. Just try to go a bit easy on the gas and let your ship sail smoothly through the dunes, it's fun to hear that roar however the smooth soft rock has its own charm 👍😊 @Shahid Mehmood First drive in Sweihan and that too after a long break from off roading, surely wasn't going to be an easy day out- still you managed to handle it gracefully. A few more drives and eventually the rythmn will catch up..😊 @Imran Kashif very nicely driven. Just be a bit more cautious with criss crossing. FB is where we start to learn these things so i am sure over next few drives you will catch up with it - till then if not sure steer down (NO counter steering and no fighting gravity). @Pascal - a perfect day on sand for you and your 4Runner. I didn't had direct visual, based on radio i believe you had no refusal or stucks today. Even your control through the criss crossing was really good 👍 Thanks again and looking forward to see you sometime soon..
  6. Dear Sand Sailors With around 30 hours to drive, i am looking forward to see you all there in Sweihan, so are all the angry birds in the area full of poultry farms. Convoy order is as below. Please ensure to be there latest by 5am. Myself, Varun will be leading the drive in grey wrangler. Followed by @Mus_hus78 as second lead in his awesome Pajero. @takeshi sobue on his first FB drive will be next (no. 3) in FJ. At number 4 will be @Indra Ozola in her Ram. @Ashok chaturvedi in his FJ will be at number 5. Then we will have two Prados with @Shahid Mehmood at 6 and @Imran Kashif at no. 7. At number 8 we will have our next Int driver @Zed in Patrol No 9 will be @Pascal in 4runner. . And @Srikumar with his Jeep will be sweeping the convoy. Thanks all, ensure you are well rested and have all the requisite gear ready. We will be using Channel 1 on our radios. Cheers
  7. Dear Sand Sailors Thanks all for RSVPing for the drive. We have an nice diverse convoy with a good mix of experience and ships, well aligned to the plan for the drive. Plan for the drive Meeting point : we plan to meet at https://maps.app.goo.gl/PTPqopKS2CPzhxZD7 and start the drive with first ray of sunlight, so make sure to reach at meeting point no later than 5am. The area is full of some crazy bowls and slopes, perfect terrain for us to explore every element of offroading - steep climbs to criss crossing, ridge riding and all.... There are dunes all over the place with exit points as well all around. Plan is that there is no plan - we'll enter the dunes and just have fun, jumping from one play area to another, one bowl to another and will try to reach the exit at around 9am. So make sure you have your running gear set as with dunes so awesome, i feel the need, the Need For Speed..🙂 yeah ignore it, i just saw Topgun yesterday so it's going to stay for sometime...😂😂 We will be joined by the Sultan of Sweihan @Srikumar with all his energy and ofcoure the most beautiful Jeep we have in Carnity. Thanks Sri 🖖 Looking forward.to see you all this sunday. In case of any change in your plan, please update the RSVP and inform well in advance. Cheers @Ashok chaturvedi @Mus_hus78 @Indra Ozola @Imran Kashif @Shahid Mehmood@takeshi sobue @Pascal @Zed @Ashutosh Garg
  8. Hahaha..yeah believe you missed the transmission when I said that i don't want to get into tech at 8:45am so had to change the plan to hit solar park 😂
  9. Dear Sand Sailors Thanks for joining for the drive. It was a pleasant outing in sand - what happened once we got back to materialistic world of traffic rules is another story. It was a nice terrain with pleasant breeze to support us and some awesome wildlife to cheer us as our ships sailed through beautiful dunes of Faqa. The whole convoy did awesomely well and handled all the challenges very nicely. I started off with a plan to do some side slopes, explore some criss-crossing and hopefully have fun at a good pace. However, the way convoy responded enticed me continue taking it notch higher through the drive and we were all overall the place - crossing through some sharp edged high dunes, ridge riding through the awesome dunes Faqa had to offer and trying some nice climbs. Overall we travelled around 75Km at an exhilarating average moving speed of 27.5Km. Ofcourse the long sabka to exit where we literally cruised through at >70kmph helped, However, this is a really an amazing feat for a FB convoy with some very new FB in it, @Jona - Thanks for your support as SL. You were truly awesome. Everytime i looked in my rear view mirror the confidently moving FJ assured me that we still have possibility to take it further a notch higher @Sam K was a perfect first FB outing for you. The way you handled your FJ surely reflected well your past experience. @Sergio Big Dawg A few more drives like these and you will be rocking on the ridge with your Safari @Paolo Pellegrini Apart from couple of refusals and that crest at the end of the drive you were really good with your Pajero. Overheating on a Pajero is like a bio break on a drive - its going to happen every once in a while..:) @Federico Galbieri believe the only time you struggled was during ridge ride. Give it some more till then just make sure - " No counter steering and no forcing FJ through the ridge" @Pieter Potgieter Fortunately no flat soft patches this time Very nicely done. @Mahmoud Taha you were awesome throughout and literally sailed through those ridges and crossing. Just go a bit easy on the gas while on the ridge. @Beide Worku Nicely done, looking forward to see your F150 roar sometime soon again. Thanks @Wrangeld for squeezing out time out of your busy schedule at work these days. Meant a lot to me personally. Thanks @Ashok chaturvedi for your awesome support throughout. Thanks all for a fun outing, looking forward to see you all sometime soon. Cheers.
