  1. Worn out rear struts are dangerous. Have them looked at asap.
  2. Hey Ali .. The ticking noise you hear can be eliminated via a short block replacement due to pistons and cylinder walls being out of alignment. Check it out. At least you won't need an engine replacement.
  3. If your timing belt is not properly tensioned it will not keep the valves timed properly to the lower end and this CAN cause misfires, loss of power, bucking, and YES it can even cause the engine to stall. I have a couple of mechanics in the family so my knowledge has vastly improved now. HEHHEEE.
  4. This is the sixth Lexus that my family has owned, not to mention the fact that I still have my grandad's 1982 as well. I am actually a very capable driver, something which all my friends and family can testify to. Oh and 125000+ eh? when you will encounter the same problem too you will know how it feels like especially because the service adviser told me that he had seen several of them which needed to be replaced around fifty to sixty thousand miles too.
  5. Adnan, Jerry, David and Master Thank you gentlemen, for your precious time and for your valued opinions. The Toyota dealership told me that the belt tensioner was to blame, which was of course promptly repaired.
  6. For a little improvement in the ventilation of your seats manually adjust the wings of your aircon but to be honest i can explicitly notice the air ventilating through my seats so if your seats are close to none then you might want to look into it. These seats help during the hot weathers here in the UAE
  7. i might not be an expert on this but I think the problem is the blower resistor. The only thing that you can do is to replace the resistor. You will have to test it first though. Hope this helps you out.
  8. Salaam friends!! Ramadaan Mubarak to you all!! I have had my Lexus GS 300 (2002) for about 4 years now. To be honest, I have never really had any major issues with it but lately there is a 'ping' kind of a noise which comes from the engine when I accelerate from low speeds. I am a huge fan of Lexus because of it's proven track record when it comes to reliability so I am wondering if this has anything to do with mileage as it has just crossed 85,000 miles. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. P.S Only happens at low rpm.
  9. the roof is getting a bit lighter then the rest of the car of my RX what can i do to avoid further damage?
