Not sure exactly about fuel filter location. Its usual place is around the fuel tank behind rear tire fender near the fuel rail. If 1/4 fuel tank is left and not getting used that makes me doubt of weak fuel pump than fuel filter.

Low battery icon only comes when alternator is dead. It doesn't comes when battery is getting weak. So check all connection on alternator and see if something is loose there to pop this light sometimes.

i had to change my M3 2007 battery as it died now the radio will not turn on a it was inbuilt with am fm and cd player i checked the fuse which has not been blown. what could be the issue
