  1. dixon, hkakash and blackarmadadxb Guys I don't drag race my car. Actually, I take really good care of my Xterra. I am retired which means I do not really drive in rush hour traffic. I have driven standard transmission vehicles all my life including some very high performance ones and have never encountered any clutch problems. Hence, whatever you gentlemen may think, no more Nissan for me. I trust my ability to recognize incompetent engineering and inferior part quality when I see it. Harry Thanks for the support buddy. It is a relief to know that at least someone understands my stance.
  2. Its funny how people just buy one headlight and replace one side... the right way to do it is to purchase them in sets and replace sides. Keeps the balance.
  3. C'mon fellas. Every manufacturer has a certain margin for error. The models from 2004 on wards were basically their third generation. They started using the Nissan F-Alpha platform again, thus returning to a body on frame construction. They also experimented around with the interior/exterior of the vehicle for example they introduced a third row of seats to the Pathfinder line for the first time. Everybody knows that the models between 2005 and 2010 have faced several class action lawsuits because of the issue with the cracks in the radiator that allow the coolant to leak in to the transmission and all but I wouldn't whine about it a lot as generally speaking Nissan is a solid and reliable manufacturer. They have introduced the first-ever Pathfinder Hybrid in the 2014 model and I might just buy it.
  4. This post is for all the Nissan fans on this site. I have a 2009 Nissan Xterra with around 23000 miles on it and am in the process of having the second clutch put in as the first one wore out at 8000 miles. There was no fluid leakage detected upon visual inspection and I certainly do not drive like a maniac so I am really at a loss. The bottom line is that Nissan sucks. The steering column started having issues within months of our purchase. I want to get rid of this vehicle and buy a Jeep. Nissan is off my list forever. Once bitten twice shy.
