  1. yup there is nothing wrong with the a control knob, its the compressor that has stopped working or the AC unit needs new gas
  2. the temp should stay just below 90. the cause of this may be the waterpump, a racked radiator, or simply that the coolant or oil levels are too low. as for the rpm issue, yes that could be that the MAF sensor is not working properly, a loose o2 sensor, faulty coil pack, or even timing...although with a fault coil pack or timing issue u should feel the car jerk when it drops the rpm like that
  3. this may very well mean that the head gasket has blown, which causes the oil and coolant to mix
  4. "Inspect Door hinges & locks" peugeot SHOULD do this, but they DONT. when it comes to these simple things peugeot is exceptionally incompetent. ive have complained about the door allignment on mine many times but they never do anything about it. peugeots can be great cars but it is because of the absolutely S%#T service that i will never buy another peugeot and advise others not to buy either
  5. no, just change the 2 tyres that need replacing. BUT, put the wheels that are currently at the back and put them in the front; and then put the new wheels at the back. when u do that, take the left rear tyre, and put it on the right front.....and the right rear tyre on the left front. also remember to CROSS the tyres every 10k kms. i.e swap the left front with the right rear, and right front with left rear
  6. i have a 2009 207 RC and the tyres that came with it were EXCELLENT. they were bridgestone potenzas. i drive my car pretty hard and they still lasted me 50 000 kms. this is REALLY good for a soft compound tyre. the grip they had were absolutely fantastic. however, when it came time to change tyres noone had these in the size i needed. so instead i bought some pirelli p-zero nero tyres. theyre not quite as good as the bridgestones, but theyre still pretty good
  7. please note that this only applies for the 207 with the 1.6 turbo engine. however, i would still recommend someone to buy this car. yes it gives problems, but it still puts a smile on my face every time i drive it
  8. ive gathered all this info from personal experience, reading up and talking to people who have had these problems
  9. please note that the 207 GT also has a 1.6 turbo engine, but only produces 150hp. however, the GT is not available in uae also, the 207 RC does come with satellite navigation, but this is not an option, i.e u cannot get the car without it
  10. u can try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes too
  11. which 207 do u have? the turbo model? and how much smoke are u talking about?
  12. you cant fix this. ill explain to why it happens. in a FWD (front-wheel-drive) car most of the weight is toward the front of the car. when u brake, the force "shifts" the weight towards the front of the car. this will mean that there is weight pushing down on the front of the car (giving the front wheels more grip) but the back gets pulled up (giving the rear tyres less grip). if the car has ESP it will keep u safe. if not; DRIVE SLOWER IN THE CORNERS lol
  13. well i ask because usually the timing belts get changed at 80 or 90k kms, so in ur case it SHOULD have been done. does the car have a complete service history? does everything check out?
  14. yes. but most likely what u are seeing is steam and not smoke. what makes u think its a cracked head?
  15. As far as i know the abs and airbag system use the same fuse. have that checked out
  16. the anti pollution fault is a very general fault on the peugeots and so u cant ever tell exactly what or where a problem is because of this error. however, luckily you mentioned the smoke. pay very close attention to the smoke and exactly which colour it is Gray or blue smoke from the exhaust. You notice gray smoke coming from the exhaust when you start your car. The smoke may or may not disappear after the car is warmed. If it is, it is less noticeable. The smoke may have a bluish tint to it. Possible causes: 1. The engine's piston rings may be worn. The Fix: Replace piston rings. (Generally not a DIY job) 2. The engine's valve seals may be worn. The Fix: Replace valve seals. (Generally not a DIY job) 3. Damaged or worn valve guides. The Fix: Replace valve guides. (Not a DIY job) Symptom: Engine uses more oil than normal, and there is some smoke from the exhaust. The oil level is low between oil changes. It appears that the oil is being burned by the engine because of the smoke in the exhaust. You may or may not notice the engine doesn't have the same power as it used to. Possible causes: 1. The PCV system is not working properly. The Fix: Replace PCV valve. 2. The engine may have mechanical problems. The Fix: Check compression to determine engine condition. 3. The engine's piston rings may be worn. The Fix: Replace piston rings. (Generally not a DIY job) 4. The engine's valve seals may be worn. The Fix: Replace valve seals. (Generally not a DIY job) White smoke or water vapor from the exhaust. You notice white smoke coming from the exhaust when you start your car. If it is cold out, this may be normal. If the smoke does not disappear after the car is warmed, you have a problem. Possible causes: 1. Water/Coolant may be entering the intake manifold through vacuum modulator. The Fix: Replace vacuum modulator 2. Cylinder head gasket(s) may be bad. The Fix: Replace cylinder head gasket(s). 3. Cylinder head(s) may be warped or cracked. The Fix: Resurface or replace cylinder heads. (Resurfacing is not a DIY job) 4. The engine block may be cracked. The Fix: Replace engine block.
  17. have the AC compressor checked out. they can be quite expensive though. had the same problem on my 2006 Renault clio. Renault wanted Dhs6500 for a new one
  18. it can mean 3 things: 1. coolant level is low 2. water level is low 3. radiator fan not working remember when the car is being driven there is constantly air being passed through the radiator...so its easier to cool. i had the same problem on my Renault Clio...so i just removed the radiator cap, filled up with water and never had the problem again. hope this helps
  19. ok now since u have a diesel; diesels emit pollution containing large particles of carbon...a way to reduce the emission is to fit in a particle filter, just like a cat converter. the message u got is because that filter is getting a bit blocked......what i can suggest is to go for a long drive (an hour or so) at a speed of around 60 - 80 kmh to allow the particles to be burned off. when u stop again, disconnect the battery IMMEDIATELY after switching the car off...leave it off for 20 minutes. when 20 minutes is up reconnect and go for a drive. if the fault still comes up u will have to have the filter replaced at the dealer
  20. yes ur car will accelrate a bit slower/lose a bit of power. and ur speedometer reading will be affected. best thing to to would be to get bigger alloys, but lower profile tyres. try to keep the combined wheel+tyre size as close to the original as possible
  21. it would be ok, but i would advise it. have a look in ur owners manual
  22. so u have checked that the switch is in the "doors" position? hmmm...what happens if u lock the doors? also, im not sure about how the lights work in the 206, but in other cars the switch to turn the lights on are the actual lights; meaning u press the lights to turn them on. is the 206 the same?
  23. it happens as soon as u close the door? do u hear some sort of locking sound? on some cars there is a feature that automatically locks the doors when u start driving perhaps u can give me more info on exactly how it happens?
